I'm sorry in advance if this has been posted.

IMO, I don't like the new forum names. Names like "The Halo 2 Forum" and "The Halo 1 and 2 PC Forum" aren't really original. I liked "New Mombasa" and "The Maw" better. Why did Bungie have to do this?

I refuse to call them their "real" names. They will always be "The Septagon", "New Mombasa", "The Library", etc. Eventually those names will be forgotten and when I'm an old and cranky man still trying to keep up with technology, I'll make a reference to these names and be flamed to death.

I don't like them really, but they were definately necessary.

They were changed so that new users aren't confused. If you went to a new site and saw "The Septagon" and "The Underground" and you had a question about Marathon, I doubt you would instantly know where to post your question. This new system is a little "newcomer-friendly".

QFT, It was needed for sure, hopefully less locks and moves now.

Oh I see. At least it had an up-side to it.

"It's not who I am underneath, but what I do that defines me."

Yeah, I can see why it was necessary.

If you notice, the page titles have stayed the same (i.e. When you go to the Halo 2 Forum, the page is still named "New Mombasa" at the very top.

Bring back The Septagon!
Bring back The Maw!

That is all. For now...

They're needed for the newcomers, but I'm still going to call them by their names.

Just like how the older people call groups "chapters".

I actually find it a bit harder to find what I want in the forums sub-menu. Probably because the usual seperation between the Library and the Gallery isn't there anymore, so it's just a big chunk of forums.

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. And it is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves the flag, whose coffin is draped in the flag that allows the protester to burn the flag.Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, USMC

Long Live the SEPTAGON!

I wont call this forum anything else.

Mourne not your comrades who must dwell / too strong to strive -
Within each steel-bound coffin of a cell, / Buried alive;
But rather mourne the apathetic throng / The cowed, and the meek -
Who see the world’s great anguish and its wrong / And dare not speak.

In my opinion, I think that they could leave the forum menu title the way it is, but change the text on the header graphic to "The Septagon: A gathering place for Bungie community activity" (using this forum as an example). I mean, they've already seen "Bungie community" on the menu. Also, they way it is now sounds a bit redundant to me.

Oh well. Like everyone else said, having that title in the navigation is needed, and hopefully it will help out.

Hey you saw my sig! :)
Their was a time when this was under a post. Simpler times; no Halo 3 Forum and no search. Simpler times. Happy about search though.

New Mombasa where art thou?
