I'm guessing the "super-bounce" glitch in the game is going to be eliminated, which is a good thing :]

The thing is, people always find ways to cheat in all kinds of games. This might hold true, because, if H2V uses the same online-system as Halo PC, there is no way to permanently punish cheaters. They can just join another game. And some people may not know how to ban/kick players.

Any thoughts on this?

Face it people are going to mod H2V. If bungie sets up the online multiplayer as a matchmaking system, then there is going to be cheating and there is going to be almost impossible to stop it, but if it is like Halo 1 PC then it will be ok and you can choose the game that you want to join.

The few, the proud, the leet.

There will be cheating, but it wont be rampant. With the implementation of a Live Anywhere tag, I'm sure cheating will be contained to mostly matchmaking serviced games. If people cheat on dedicated servers, they'll simply get banned.

I am interested to know how PC matchmaking will work, seems like it's going back a decade to have an individuals computer essentially be a server, lag will be a -blam!-.

As far as cheating, if BF2 and BF2142 arn't being run over by it, and seeing as how Halo PC isn't being overrun by it either, I am optimistic that H2V will feature far less cheating out of the gates than Halo PC did, and that Hired Gun or MGS will keep on top of it.

Pet0sh, I don't remember you being silly, so I will give you the benefit of the doubt here and assume you are not responding to my post...because of course there will be dedicated servers, unless you are sugesting that MS will supply the hundreds of dedicated servers it will require for a matchmaking system to work using dedicated servers, then I think you overestimate them. Matchmaking uses oldschool hosting, not servers, I don't thing this will change anytime soon.

Any game with multiplayer is going to have cheating. Regardless of what game it is. I've seen people cheat is Civ4, Flatout, CS:S, SOF2, Legacy, and a whole tone of others. It's just a fact of life. I just hope HG will implement some features to help identify cheaters more easily than what we've had with Halo PC.

No dought that there will be mods. Hopefully it will be like Halo PC, where you can choose if you want play in a server with or without mods. There will defenitly be cheating in matchmaking, but there will hopefully be some kind of anti-cheat.

As long as Bitter Bannana doesn't accidently leak his aim bot we should have alot less cheating than in Halo 1. But there will always be cheaters, like it or not...

If Bungie supports it as much as they've supported Halo PC, then yes, there will be many cheaters in the game.

I think it is safe to say that thier will be a small degree of cheating but i think that thier will be some form of Punk Puster implemented.

Kind of like in FEAR MP, and if there is any cheating, I just hope that it ends up in Ded servers, or some where where it can be contruled.

If you can keep cheaters in a controlled environment, that doesn't mean you're in control.
