Sorry for strange question, but I have never owned and don't want to own an Xbox, so I have never used Xbox Live!

Now with current Halo and other online PC games you have servers, some public, some private and you select the server you wish to join using a variety of means (in game console, Xfire, allseeing eye etc...), but with Halo 2 Vista and the "Live" type system, how does this work???

One concern for me is that we hire a set or private servers for Halo and COD2 currently and run as a Clan with contributions from regulars (as most clans do), but the biggest reason for doing this is that we get to play with sensible like minded people who don't team kill all day and spoil the games (and if they do we as admins - kick or ban them), how does all this work for halo 2 Vista??

Can you set-up private servers, who hosts all games etc.....

Anyone able to tell a non-Xbox owner how it works and who admins it?

Thanks

If you subscribe to XBOX Live Gold, then you will basically get your own dedicated servers. With XBOX Live Silver (Free), you can create your own servers (host) and have the ability to kick and ban players. With Gold, you also have the ability to earn multiplayer-based achievements on LIVE servers. There will be no matchmaking or stats system in H2V.

I hope so, Match making is -blam!-, don't get me wrong, it can be cool, but only your freinds could join games you created, no custom made public servers.

Yeah its supposed to be like the previous one. if you have Gold then you get the matchmaking like Xbox Live, where you are in a server with people at your own level, but in Silver its like the previous game. I just hope that there is NO HOST ADVANTAGE, and NO LEAD :'( because that RUINED Halo PC.

Will gold get to play like old one? Or do I have to have one gold and one silver.
