Unleash the ninjas! There's a drunken idiot! Get some sleep 8 hour temp ban for you you.... What do you think about this idea? Enough to put the drunks like me right now if they get out of hand, getting them out of the forums, at the same time allowing the sober version to post the hangover day, I mean the day after so long as they don't do like vulgarities, and obcenities...

Good to see at least somebody takes this place seriously

I am sincerely disappointed in everyone except JIMH. JIMH, have a gold star.

',:\ IF YA SAHMELLLL

I would prefer if there was some sort of 168 hour temporary ban.

Don't do it AnalyticalEdify. Go to bed. You will regret this, people tend to regret things when drunk.
Although, I kinda like the idea.

No, a one-week vacation is fine thank you.

When you break the rules (or break minor rules multiple times) that shows clear disregard, or ignorance of the rules. The children who break the rules should have plenty time to think about their actions during "time-out". The rules are abundantly clear, and being so, it should be abundantly clear you broke the rules. Remember, when children get punished, they'll be sure to follow the rules more diligently. Because just a little slap on the wrist will not stop them from breaking the rules over and over again.

Plus, why would they break the "rule of se7en"? C'mon, it's perfect. One week = 7 days. Now who'd wanna change that?

May I add that Bungie controls everything. You have no rights. Play nice.

*hugs kittens*

No, if someone is misbehaving to the point where they must be removed, they should serve no less than a 7 day ban.

7 day ban for a quote pyramid? I dunno, I'd go with the 8 hour ban.

A quote pyramid counts as spam. Would you rather have spammers gone for 8 hours, or serve their time for a week?

* Yes...
** Well, it wouldn't be the user's choice... There could be an 8 hour ban option but it wouldn't be used...

I got banned for a quote pyramid once. Was I spamming? No. I didn't even know how many quotes (apparently five) it took to be a quote pyramid. If not a 8 hour ban I should have at least gotten a warning.

A ban IS a warning. If a ban can expire between daily visits to a site, it's hardly a warning.

I would issue a 7 day ban for that at least. Quote pyramids are spam and an eyesore. People need to realize that you can edit a quote so things like that do not happen. If a user keeps doing it I guess I could do a 14 day ban as well.

For now though we have a warning system for minor violations and of course a history record for all members. So if somebody was warned once for doing it I feel no pity if I ban them for a week.

-Quaere verum.

Got a report? Use the report tool or send a pm.
Chairleg Productions presents: 'Console Wars' and 'Games as Art?' (also on Halo Waypoint).

It's not our fault if a user drinks like a yoozel. I'd agree that the 8 (should be 7 if anything) hour ban seems a little too much and It's much nicer keeping things simple.

I agree with it....sometimes I'm not in the right frame of mind here (most of the time) and I tend to say some silly things. I got a month long ban last time because I said "sexist" comments.....I thought that was unfair...they were obviously jokes.
