Not all of us can just switch to a different browser. I often visit Bungie.net from work, where I cannot simply download and install new programs onto my work computer. Saying, "Switch to a different web browser" is unhelpful and repetitive at best.
This website has supposedly been "simplified" for faster loading. Considering that it mostly consists of text and fairly simple javascript now, it's my opinion that the bug should be fixed such that it does not take ten minutes of button mashing to view a website owned by a subsidiary of the same corporation that makes my web browser.
Point well taken. I didn't mean to sound so militaristic. The goal and duty of good web development is to create pages that work on all browsers. The problem is that different browsers interpret HTML, CSS, and JavaScript in different ways. IE versions equal to or less than 6 interpret things in very different ways. This makes a web developer's job very tedious, and it is the reason that I am exerting maximum self control in not getting into the "why" argument in this thread (It would be more off-topic than I might have already taken us).
Anyway, as you can see, Achronos himself stated that the site was tested mainly against IE7 and Firefox 2, and even explicitly stated that IE versions lower than 6 just won't be dealt with. If his job bares any resemblance to mine, I bet the only reason he is supporting IE6 is because so many people still use it. that's why people who do the work that I do get so excitable when we see any chance to convert people to better browsers.
But like Achronos said: you will help the Bungie web people a lot if you let them know these things every time you experience a problem:
The browser you're using (IE, Firefox, Safari, etc, etc)
The version of that browser (IE6, IE7, Firefox 1.5, Firefox 2.0, etc, etc)
The operating system you're using (Windows XP, Home, Me, Vista , Mac 10.2, Linux if you're uber-geeky, etc)
