The Marty Army

Ah, look at the lonely people...

Yeh. I'm curious. Does Frankie or someone just randomly put an image there? I did a little bit of haxing (read - url adjusting) and found a bunch. Or, is something going to go there and that's just placeholder? It confuses me. The current image is from Halo CE, the alt text (for those of you don't know, the text that appears if your browser can't load the image) is "Halo Stats", and yet it links to the Halo 3 project page? Confusing.

Also, a few little morsels I found in my escapades.

Well most likely it's halo 3 stuff. So maybe you stats or something will display there. of course for now it just generate an image.

Hehe, I was about to post the same thing if someone didn't mention it first. It's quite misleading.

Oh. And uh, Nice find. :D Sheesh.

Yeah it's pretty cool. I also did the same. I now regret it a tad, as it would have been a nice surprise.
It is very misleading though, I clicked it hoping to find some stats but......

It was for the less tech savy that don't know how to view source code but still want to see what we are talking about.

I don't think I've seen some of them before. Interesting...

For the lazy:
PicNumber2
PicNumber4
PicNumber7
PicNumber8
PicNumber9
PicNumber10

I wonder why they aren't sequential?

Edit: that Vista one must be a new map or something... an Editor example perhaps? Intriguing!

It's most likely a HUD-less screenshot of one of the new maps.

I work here: Sound Devices, LLC. We make bad-ass field audio gear, and you think that's awesome. My messy desk (With work-related items on the computer screen).

Maybe it's just a place to put a picture because it makes the home page look nice. :)

I will take a shot at this:

They have a java script (I am guessing) in place that auto. loads each image every time you swich the page, pretty much a randomizer. Just like HIH uses.

Mourne not your comrades who must dwell / too strong to strive -
Within each steel-bound coffin of a cell, / Buried alive;
But rather mourne the apathetic throng / The cowed, and the meek -
Who see the world’s great anguish and its wrong / And dare not speak.

That's what I was thinking at first. But if that were the case, we wouldn't all be seeing the same one at the same time. Also, the image stays the same even if you keep refreshing.

I would guess that either it is set to some sort of timer type thing, and changes every few days or so, or someone changes it whenever they feel like it (perhaps put a related picture up for the most recent top news story?). I would guess the second one, but I don't know.
