I can't believe that there was so much effort to creating a single product, then it takes only 12 seconds to put it all together.

I'm so glad I pre-ordered! I also can't wait for that helmet! I too fell nerdy.

Playing Halo since November 17, 2001.

I am gonna have to go to either EB or Gamestop and reserve my copy of Halo 3 legendary!
Does anyone have a clue as to how many legendary editions will be released?

  • 03.22.2007 7:45 PM PDT

A mythic member but I speak my mind to much.

life must be hard in china. They study really hard when they are young, they get A's and they are all Honor Students. The sad thing is that they waste all that hard work making little plastic helmet all day. Very repetitive, very boring, not very satisfying. China you deserver more.

EB games (gamestop) and some other gaming only shops. I highly doubt Bestbuy or circuit city will get to many and fact remains that even if they do get some hardcore Halo fans will be lined up. So get there early. And I agree with sketch that it had to be a balance between quality and cost. And you guys seemed to do perfect (I'll judge when I can pick it up....can you give us a date.) anyways Did you place a pre-order sketch?

You know that bungie cares about quality when its made by cheap Chinese labor. It also says they make one every 12 seconds. You can tell the care thats put into them.

dude....just cuz its cheaper duznr mean its anyworse...the price isnt based on quality...ppl work for less over there...and therefor the price is less...and this is bungie....they wouldnt allow these things to be made if they werent of superb quality
Im sorry but im not paying $120.00 for something that some guy from China can make in 12 seconds. Thats just not me.

The physical manufacturing of putting the pieces that were already made takes twelve seconds. It took far longer for them the individual pieces of helmet. But while on an assembly line, a new helmet will be made every twelve seconds. That doesn't mean the entire process is twelve seconds!!!

Oh, and say hi to your Mom.

Thanks for a great behind the scenes look. I'm assuming they meant 450,000 units. That would equate to about a 3 month production run. That does sound like a lot for a limited edition, but didn't Halo 2 sell over 15 million copies? What impresses me most is the logistics involved in being able to put a few hundred thousand of these on selves simultaneously all over the world. That is quite a task. Good luck to everyone involved!!!

One question. Have you ever done a behind the scenes look at the Joyride Studios manufacturing process? I have a huge collection of the 7" Halo and Halo 2 figures they produce. It would be cool to see how they're made too.

Woo! Cheap Chinese labor!
Anyhow, I preordered mine.
I just hope I can raise the $105 needed to pay it off.

Just rereading the story and news post made me think of the Simpson's episode about Bart making T-shirts. And since Sketch is a Simpson's fan hopefully i won't get in any trouble.
