This is a really cool idea guys... 5v5 $2 a person. It will be lots of fun, plus you may get to play against some of the best players to ever play the game (like that nub up there).

I see now. I just thought it was odd that you made an account here on the same day that rooo posted this. And I'm a bit cautious when It comes to new members.

Anyways, Where would this tornament happen?

This isn't going to work.

Nobody will pay, and I bet you won't follow through anyway.

I know Roo0 and `dutch_, seen em in the RP servers lol, they -blam!-. Anyways, are you two guys referring to the Clanwars.cc HPT (Halo PC Tourney) league? Or is this something else?

You don't have to pay for hpt...

This won't work because I am pretty sure you guys are clueless about halo pc. There is about 100000 things you should of posted along with the original post, rules and stuff, what servers we would use, how UK players would play, so on and so forth.

This is just to see if anyone is even interested before even going into the rules bro, and you show your ignorance and lack of intelligence. I competed at the only 2 halo pc tournaments that mattered was Winter 2003 cpl and Summer 2004 Cpl. So keep that I dont know anything about halo pc Its 2 freaking dollars per person, lol we can do it for free I dont care. As to the poster before, I would come through, I make over 3k a month so suck me off.... If no one is interested thats fine, Even in the free one, i could care less, I just thought it would be good for one last hurrah before h2v..

64 teams? You expect 256/320 players?

Did you post on other forums like kw/hpt?

Also take note that teams that played on cal were certainly not the best teams, obviously. How much you make a month is obviously also completely irrelevant to the cost. Still, posting something like asking for a tournament, without posting any information what so ever doesn't let you sound the most enlightened.

Who were you in cpl, and why is it apparently the only team that mattered. Have you actually played any halo pc since?

Speaking from experience I know it takes a hell of a lot of work and planning to pull off a tournament. Last summer I had setup a 64 player FFA slayer tourney it took about three weeks to get everyone signed up and the schedule organized and about a week for each of the first three rounds then another week for the last three. I only had about 50% of the player show for the match even though I sent out reminders 24hours before each match. The first three rounds were getting the forfeits and the noobs out of the way the last three were a little better. Not trying to discourage but you really need to be prepared ahead of time and organized. A website that is well laid out and easy to update is a huge plus. Someone really should hold a farewell tourney because HaloPC will truly start to fade when H2V comes out, but do not look at me. Been there, done that and got the T-shirt. On the front of the shirt it says,"I ran a Halo PC tournament", and on the back it says,"...and I ain't never -blam!- doing that again!"

The only reason I said anything about money is the fact that some dude said I woudlnt go through with it.. If your 13 -16 and h ave no way of paying ok it wont work,,, Fine we can do it for free, once again I thought it would just offer some incentive since this game has been dead for almost 3 years now.... And 2ndly lol how can you even compare cal and cpl to clanwars and twl, dude what have u been smoking Any team back in the day could not hang with the likes of the Cooked Gamers, Wat? halo , Xeno , The goochers to name a few. Teams that play in those leagues cannot hang with the pro's.... The main reason it wont work is due to the fact that its only really young immature people who play, thats not a bash against you...... or anyone that is overage. :) Well do it free.... Now we have that out of the way, simply post if your interested or not...

I am interested, because I am always interested in such competitive competitions, but that's just me. Also I would have to stick up for the communities that I am part of by saying that cal/cpl only thought they were good as they played amongst themselves. Name a few clans/players that played outside of cal in later years please. Also if it has been dead for 3 years, then it only lived for like 1?

Also, since you are ex-cal and all, I would love to maybe face you in some sort of 1v1 halo match for a bit of fun. Do you have x-fire? I was of course a tad too young at the time to be in cpl, but then again the game was too young to have players that are the same standard as players are nowadays.

Simply stated "dead" means no real competition "money" since summer 2004... Im not bashing on anyone for their age but a game is either played for fun, or its played for money. The Halo brand is still much alive. But as far as pc goes. There is no tournaments therefore it is not alive. Ya the game was only alive for 1 year. It had 2 tournaments with cpl and 3 season's with CAL.. Cpl gave it a shot because of its name "halo" The games Netcode was made terrible by GEARBOTCH. IF the game was ported properly we would be having a much different conversation because it would still be alive and kickin..

The reason I only count cal/cpl as a true gaming league is they are the only ones that Offer money for winning. Take Xeno and Wat?Gaming for both tournaments I believed they made about 20k a piece for each team... I fail to see how KW and Twl can even compare to that.,

I have pubbed around a bit, Not near at the status I use to be, I dont have xfire, however if you would like we can play some 2 v 2's..... have a nice day...

who says you have to be an ace to have fun?

Stupid parents let their stupid children play games that are rated M when they should be playing Big Birds Spelling Adventures

Also the AR is actually good in CQB now and no longer a glorified baseball bat.

A game is not dead simply because it is played for fun and not for money. That's a very ignorant statement, IMO, to say a game that has over 2000 players playing regularly is dead.

Sure thing, 2v2s sound great. Also, just because there are no tournament that are for money anymore, means that all players are worse? You yourself said that you haven't played in a while so how could you possibly know how good players these days are?

I own some servers, both UK and US, so we can have some 2v2s then, do you have MSN or AIM? I am very flexible here.

Simply, more money does not mean more skill. Also TWL is not hpc active anymore lol...

Also, not all competitive gaming is for money...CAL = Cyberathlete Amateur League.

What team were you in in cpl?

PS. I believe it was $15000 dollars per tournament.

The sniper is simply overpowered, 1sk and when there's no lead there's no skill behind it at all, it's just clicking.
Don't forget those pesky pistol whores. Rocket launchers take way more skill because it takes time before the projectile can reach its target. Especially at close-range, where your opponent is like two feet away. Then it takes god-like skill to take him out.
