Excuse me while I quote people.

5. Three-shotting a player in the head from anywhere on a map, the second they spawn, requires very little skill and wrecks balance. Fun as it is.
Thank you. That also pretty much proves that the "new version of an old favorite" isn't the H1 pistol, even though I knew that - because, as another member mentioned, weapons can't be damaged/destroyed.

-- Steve will remind folks that there are real limits on what can he discussed in the Updates... for instance, plot spoilers won't go in, and neither will balance issues that are probably still being adjusted. Hence the concentration on art stuff that can't ruin surprises and won't change dramatically before release.
Thank you. Despite the update being around for so long, some people still don't get it. Also, release dates and announcements aren't in Weekly Updates - they're normally placed in a different Top Story.

im not even gonna check the weekly updates anymore. its just one useless update after the other.
Awesome. That means one less hater posting in the forums about it.
Oh, and when someone said to JANITOR, "please don't even attempt to speak for the entire Halo fanbase," he was referring to this:

Guess what - no one cares about stupid dust particles. The only things people were looking for in the trailer were new weapons/enemies/guns - and the slight chance that you guys might make a semi-smart choice of showing an H1 pistol strapped somewhere to MC's waist.
I love hearing about things like that. New weapons/enemies/guns aren't introduced in Weekly Updates. And despite your opinion, not everyone loves the H1 pistol. I wouldn't play multiplayer at all if the H1 pistol appeared in the game. In fact, I might not even buy the game if that happens.

And Seagulls??!!! Are you kidding me?? ... Let me premise what I'm about to say by stating that Halo 2 was beautiful graphically, but I didn't play campaign or play multiplayer so i could stop and enjoy a seagull on a ledge 40 feet up. Any idiot doing that deserves to be sniped by the covenant. The problem with you guys is you think it's all about how cool a game looks.
I guess I deserve to be sniped by the Covenant, then. I think that the seagulls is awesome. Plus, almost everyone eventually starts messing around in Campaign, whether it's killing their co-op teammate, jumping off the cliff, or anything else. Remember the birds in Halo 2 campaign? I tried to shoot those more than once (a few times on accident, thinking they were enemies). You know how awesome it would be if they dropped when they were shot? So the seagulls would be amazing, and it would cater to the short attention span of gamers.
How cool a game looks is a major part of the game.

I'll take crap graphics and amazing game play over brilliant graphics and game play catered to the masses so that you can sell your quota of games for Microsoft.
If you want crap graphics and amazing gameplay, buy a Wii.
Sorry for the Janitor quotes, but I feel that they all pertain to the contents of the updates. I love how he used the phrase "bungied it up," though, as if that's a common term (plus, I feel that the changes he mentioned weren't mistakes, but necessary).
Also, why do people jump to conclusions and think that just because Bungie didn't cater to their individual desires for the game, that all they care about is money, and don't care about their fans? Bungie has so many people with so many contrasting desires that they can't make everyone happy, but that doesn't mean that they're greedy and don't care about the content of their game. And all the decisions I've seen Bungie make have been great.
And that was an awesome update. The sky was interesting, and the birds just made me happy. I'm also happy that even the distant objects have real geometry. I was driving up a hill with a Ghost in Halo 2's campaign, and all the foliage was completely flat (though the mountains and water were actually there).
Was this post long? It seems like it.
