I was thinking there could be an italics command feature for replying and what not. I don't think we should get too involved with it, as we don't want to take away from the cool new look, however, a little I, B, and U on the bottm left should only make things easier, instead of typing code all the time. I was also thinking there could be a quote button that would quote whatever you highlight in your reply box, and the current quote button would do the same thing it does now. However, we could change what the current one says to 'quote user' or something.

Just speculation, please give your feedback.

We have an italics feature, however ever since the new hawtness, nobody knows any of the coding anymore. Here they are:

Italics are- * Word[/*] In this case, the "*" is an "i".
For Bold-* Word[/*] In this case, the "*" is a "b".
For underline-* Word[/*] In this case, the "*" is a "u"

I know the current italics feature. I was saying that it would be a lot easier for new members, and faster for everyone, if there were icons that would do it for you like in most forums.

Uh, that was a bit confusing. . .so here's an easier way.

The mark up tag for italics is text . So, the code for "I love Bungie.net" is "I love Bungie.net. The same goes for bold and underline. Just replace the "i" with a "b" or a "u".

There. Does that make more sense?

-Blahoo

Edit: Oh, you already get it? Never mind. . .but I still don't see the need for a new feature.

God forbid we type instead of pressing a button to insert it.

That was hard.

Oh, that is what you mean, my apologies. I do agree that, yes it would make it easier for new members that don't know the codes, I just think that putting the list back into the forms such as bold and italics would be a bit easier. Not to mention members would have to work a bit for what they want, which is always a good thing.

Hmm... let me make this easier to read:

Bold ~ Bungie

Italic ~ Bungie

Underline ~ Bungie

I am t3h master of vB code.

I already checked help, it only shows the [*] thing, I noticed that the person who wrote it had however posted bullet points so I wondered if there was a way. I am in no way contradicting myself Blahoo I'm going to blahoogana your blahoogana if you don't blahoogana!

Edit: Original Prior post changed. his post is now meaningless!

Why don't you just give me ONE SECOND!

Nah, typing in code is pretty easy imo
True this may be harder for new members, but there's stickies pointing this out.

How hard would it be to add icons on the bottom like every other forum in the world? Icons would eliminate just about all concerns for new members and make it a little faster for everyone else. What would it hurt?

Yeah, Bungie likes to screw with our minds by doing stuff like that. . .there's probably a secret code that they don't tell us just to make us mad like

Bullet=[iluvsoffishandtijuanamama] text [/iluvsoffishandtijuanamama]

or some weird crap like that. :P

Honestly, and personally, I find the icons you speak of to be of a large nuisance. Pressing it, then unpressing it. Then making sure that everything will look the way you want it. With markup tags however, the text will look exactly the way you want it.

We don't even have cool buttons for "reply" anymore. . .what makes you think that Bungie will put text markup buttons?
