Leave no man behind. But be prepared to stand alone.
The Marines in the the first game strike me as better soldiers than the ones in H2. And I certainly learned very early to take the wheel of the Warthog rather than shotgun, or even the gun for that matter. I also avoid handing any AI a launcher in tight quarters, though I find it useful to get one in the hands of an AI who then rides shotgun while I rack up on roadkills. The Aussie, the Mexican, and of course Sgts. Johnson and Stacker, are a riot providing comic relief in the field. The Marine who whines alot (as at the beginning of "Metropolis") has a funny one-liner now and again, but that's about it. My sympathy for him outweighs my dislike of his whining. The females in H2 are tougher than I would have expected. Compared to MC, of course, everyone seems a bit inept. It would be nice to be able to compensate for this with commands like "pull back" or "hold position". Are the Marines meant for dying or for cannon fodder or a distraction? Not to me. As former military it's a creed thing---I always keep the backs of comrades. Yeah, it gets me smoked sometimes, but so be it.
