Leave no man behind. But be prepared to stand alone.

Hope this isn't inappropriate. I'm 48 years old and I'm wondering how many other older Halo fans there are. I picked up gaming just over two years ago at the insistence of some younger co-workers half my age. I grew up in the 70's on Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, and the like, fell in love with maryjane and all her kissin' cousins, hit rock bottom as a result, had a spiritual awakening and found recovery, been clean and sober for years now, etc., etc. I think if Halo had been around when I was a teen I would have avoided flirting with death by misadventure. I don't have kids but I think Halo and a 360 would help me keep track of them if I did. Anyhow, if you're an older gamer and a Halo fan, chime in. Even if you're not a "Halo Elder" chime in if you like. Think of me as a far out old man if you wish, but don't say something uncouth. I don't want anyone banned any more than anyone really wants to be banned.

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. And it is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves the flag, whose coffin is draped in the flag that allows the protester to burn the flag.Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, USMC

Nothing bad about this thread. Actully a good story and point to it. Might be in the wrong place, but im not sure.
