I wouldn't consider it even a average Gaming card. It will play Halo fine, however.

I'd go for a 7800 GS.

It's crap, get a 7600gs at least, but if you can, an x1950 pro or a 7800gs would be good choices since it sounds like you are on AGP.

What it is.

I have that card, it's in my mom's computer now because i upgraded to a 9800 Pro(card is busted) then to a Geforce 7900GT(which is in my comp now). It was good for what i used it for(Halo PC). but any other game ran like crap and i would definitely upgrade. If you want to have the best AGP card, then go with the the x1950 pro or 7800GS like the others have mentioned. Otherwise go with the 7600GS, or something around there.

A 128 mb card is ok for Halo. But not for anything made in the last oh, 3 years about. Now-a-days, 256 Mb cards are the minimum if you want anything resembling decent graphics or framerate. Who here is old enough to rmember the 32 mb graphics cards of yester-year? Or even the 8 mb cards? Now that's old skool!

And ya, I just realized I'm rambling. Chalk it up to Dilaudid.

I'm 17 but when we got our first comp in early 99 it had like a ATI Rage 8mb card. Also, my bro's old comp had a Hercules Geforce MX400 32mb card. Even that 32mb card ran Halo at a decent frame rate, of course the settings couldnt go that far up but stll, lol. That's my piece of the pie.

I still play Halo on my Radeon X1050 256MB and it can be jumpy as hell at 1024x768, but since getting rid of Catalyst it's ran a dream even at 1440x900.

Weird.

Just wondering - what is the best AGP card available? Everybody seems to be using PCIe now, and I don't feel like spending $200 on a new motherboard.

Why does it always seem that PCIe cards are less expensive than AGP? =(

Because AGP is a dead format.

Well, the x1950 Pro is the newest chip from ATi, and it can come in an AGP flavor. So I can't say it's completely dead yet.
