You can apply the same rule to programming that you can to Flamechu, exception handling.

The fact that people will never recognize and be responsible for their stupidity will drive society to always have a force to monitor itself. The Police, FBI, UN, etc., are all excellent examples of rule abiding organizations that enforce rules that people must adhere to. If it wasn't for such agencies there would be complete chaotic domination of the world by those who can assert themselves to that position. Genocides, terrorism, dictators, wars, etc., are examples of what happens without observation of a situation that lacks administration of rules or guidelines. Our very community can compare.

I wonder if you have any idea at all how ironic I find this statement. Genuinely... I do...

You should just be thankful there is one place untainted by such childish acts. For it is here you can escape the IQ draining stupidness that will always be a part of a public forum such as this. Following on from the "Rep" thread in this forum it's good to see that Bungie (Achronos) has expressed some possibilities in the future to get rid of this problem. I'm not a rep fan but certainly a revisited set of rules followed by an easier way to alert mods of rule breakers and impose penalties is something perhaps necessary now.

It's all Flamechu's fault. And don't come visit this site expecting to find respectable intelligent people. Most of the persons who fancy visting this site are young. There's goes the maturity level and that's all she wrote.

Aren't you bound by the Bungie Code of Conduct to make a gamespot link when you mention Flamechu?

New Flood the home of all things random

OMG, gaming for the fun of it.

Yeah i saw that wrestling thread & the LP one S3nator was talking about, it puts me off making a positive post to the thread when it's just filled with flamers and arguements. There's not much you can do other than complain and hope the mods warn them. I would just try and ignore them next time and hope the become disinterested in the thread cause no ones rising to their comment, all they're really after is attention and an arguement. I wouldn't give up on B.net or The Flood there's some cool people their if you can ignore the simpletons.

That makes no sense considering we have already discussed the issue of how age effects maturity and I'm pretty sure we deemed that it doesn't affect it as much as think. Read all the other posts before you type something that we have already discussed.

So once you deem that something has been decided, the rest of the users on Bungie.net are no longer entitled to voice thier opinion?

While I disagree with this thread in general, I would agree that you are the type of person that its referencing.

Don't you think its rather ironic that you are 'almost' doing the same thing...I.E. Trashing the people who started the trashing in the first place? Doesn't that bring you down to their level? Go smoke a bowl and -blam!- some fools at Team Slayer. You'll feel better I promise.

Maybe you should read more carefully and not behind clouded eyes. I am refering to the fact that we had discussed that earlier and why bring it up again when we had already discussed it. The simple facts is that age has about 10% to do with maturity.

Plus, I wasn't even talking about you in the first place so I believe that you are the one of those people that that is refering considering I said not one word about you, but you felt the need to jump in.

Stop sending me group invites -blam!-s!

You think the flood is bad? Try the halo 3 forum. Not only is there spam from people who think they have the next 'big theory' even though they only have about 3 lines and no evidence to back it up. Not to mention the horrible grammar, I wouldn't mind reading %60 of the threads if only they used proper grammar. At least in the flood a lot more people use correct spelling and grammar. You may not think it, but you are being elitist. The flood is a place of discussion if you get flamed for trying to discuss something it is usually because the majority of the forum don't want to discuss it. If it is only from one person then fair enough.

Look, it happens,, I got flamed once for spelling 'ultimatum' wrong but at least I didn't make another thread in the 7th column complaining about it. You are just exaggerating the situation. The mods are there to do their jobs and they do them well, so there is no need for threads like these. Your thread is just as much spam as one that has only one line saying 'Where are my keyz?//?"

This is a common misconception - you are NOT anonymous on the Internet. You just appear to be so. It is usually pretty easy to track down most people who aren't actually trying to be anonymous.

And at any rate, here, we have the Play Nice rule and with our new warning system here and a few other upcoming additions, I think we can beat it into the skulls of these kinds of people that actions have consequences here.

Posted by: j dik
it has everything to do with the topic. people act like they do because the internet gives them a chance to be completely anonymous. some(most) people(immature kids) see it as a chance to be a complete ass, because they know no one can do anything about it in "real life" and they think its fun.

13 year old little johnny, sitting there telling everyone they PHAIL, in his mind is completely anonymous.

I'd pay to see the look on a kid's face if he went to answer the door one day, and there was 300 pound Bubba (who posted about his X button theory, only to be savagely flamed) waiting for him.

13 year old Johnny isn't capable of a 'savage flame'...unless there are actually people who take offense to being told that they 'phail'.

I believe one thing for sure, the way that we act as Bungie.net members has some influence on others. I think that if we all started to act a little more mature and decent on the forums that we might be able to show through actions what it is to be a pleasant, respectable person here on Bungie.net. Granted that it might not do anything, but I think that it will encourage discussion and productive forum activities.

Also. Can you make them shut up about XBL not working? For gods sake, it says it won't be working on the front page.

You're right, I did make that up. OMQ you got me. Actually, if I actually wanted to look it up, I'td probably be around that.

You see, maturity is a strange thing because it is measured in life expirences and deals with your surroundings. Which is more mature? A 25 year old guy, living in his mother's basement. Or an intelligent 14 year old kid who has a very high GPA? I'm telling you one thing. The number of each of those is pretty much the same. So what you will say is that they balance out, because you believe you are so smart. Now I would guess that intelligence would have to do more with maturity than anything eles. It's not that I am denying that age has nothing to do with it, because it does. But there are more important factors than age.

And I would also guess that the people that think age has everything to do with it are either college/high school dropouts. Or those guys, who are have a job that has something to do with the internet , who have formed a bad opinion and based on a bias decision.

My guess is the latter.

Yeah, I can totally relate to you there. Those guys on the Halo 3 forum are wayy worse than those on The Flood. Halo 3 is basically just filled with antsy 13-year-olds aching to get their hands on the Halo 3 Beta. The last "Beta Discussion" grew a page a minute. Just imagine what speculations they could come up with if they discussed the Kennedy Assassination.
