Well.... people always act "familiar" on the internet: IE: They act like they do around their friends. A perfect example, The 400 pound lady who got insulted on the internet. The news were nice to her, and other people who were near her were nice to her. But if you walk around school you could hear conversations like this:
"you hear about that ugly fat -blam!-"
"yeah she was so fat she didn't know she was pregnant"
"ahahhahahaha"
The thing is, in all likelihood you don't hang out with people like this. So you aren't used to conversations like this. Unfortunately, they happen. Just because the people you hang out with don't talk like this, doesn't mean that people who hang out at the back of school don't.
People probably make comments like this all of the time. People who like wrestling, tend to congregate in normal society. So they never hear comments like this. People who aren't used to comments like this tend to congregate in society. So they never hear comments like this. Which is probably why people where shocked when they read things like this on the internet
The internet is very different. All kinds of people are there. So you may see views, and people who aren't what you are accustomed too. This is how people act. Live with it. The Government isn't going to do anything unless its -blam!- harassment, or something like that.
If you don't want to deal with people's opinions, go join a group. There you can discuss what you like. The government won't do anything, there is a law upholding free speech. Bungie will stop all discussions that are "controversial", that is their way of stopping flaming. however they can not stop "disagreements", as then there would be no discussion. You can not have discussion, without disagreement, especially in an area where people from all walks of life come together.
You say that people should be black listed for "disagreeing"? Sorry, but that isn't going to happen. Live with it. Yes some comments are "bad", but there aren't enough moderators, to get every single comment. People disagree based on their personal interests. Go read a psychology book. People view what they do as "right" and what others do as "wrong". This has shown itself prevalent throughout society, so read a psychology book. This is why there is so much conflict in the world (i can't explain it all, because a lot of it has to do with controversial topics such as wars, etc)
