To all the people who helped make Halo 2 possible in any way, my thanks to you. First a little personal history of Halo 2 for me:

I have just been playing your awesome game for about 18 of the last 36 hours (I would have played it more, but hey, class and football have to go somewhere). As with any high-profile game, I had high expectations and from the moment that I popped the disc in the Xbox, I could tell that it was something special. And not just because of the long wait and enormous lead up to to it. I was at the E3 Fanfest 2003 and I came away from there feeling pumped by the build that I saw there. I preordered it with the fastest delivery possible from Gamestop 6 months ago when the Nov. 9 date was finally confirmed, at the first oppurtunity that I had enough money for it. Unfortunately, I couldn't get to any of the Midnite madness Halo events happening in the LA area, as I was wrting a paper, trying frantically as I have been since last Thursday to complete all the school work that I have for the next 2 weeks, because I know for sure that the game will take up all my free time and even some of the not-so-free time (My football coach even had to post in the locker room that there was to be no Halo 2 talk during practice).

When I woke up at 9:30 on Tuesday, I was all jittery, as the mailroom opens at 10:00 and they bring the mail in in two shifts, one in the morning, and one in the afternoon. I spent the next half-hour praying that my copy was in the first shift. To make a long and painfully tense story short, it was. I immediately text-messaged my team-mates who lived in a well-connected house off-campus in their classes and 5 minutes later when class got out, we ran all the way from school to it (1/2 mile) and were ready to begin.

Form the get go in multiplayer, we were impressed. The controls were as responsive as ever, the graphics blew my mind on what a Xbox console could do, the customization there has some real potential for clan uniformity, the levels were huge and lush, and the weapons were all that I could have hoped for and more. I would definitely say that it was worth my $55 just for the multiplayer set-up.

Later on at night, I began playing the single player campaign and was rewarded with another awesome spectacle. Like some of the first all-CGI movies that boggled our minds with their graphics and then astounded our intellect with a great story-line, that is what Bungie did there. The events lead into the present very well and the story line reads like a best-selling novel. I am now about 8 hours into the single-player campaign and ther has been so many twists and turns that my mind is about ready to burst.

Now, a day later, I see news reports saying that Halo 2 sold 2.38 million copies in the US and Canada alone, making it the best single-day method of entertainment in human history, 125 million, more money in a day than any movie in history, or any other form of entertainment. Now, with the release of Halo 2 in Europe, the UK and Japan approaching tommorrow, All I have to say is Bungie, you deserve it, and thank you for letting me and all the people who enjoy Halos 1 & 2 be a part of it.
