Halo 2 is completely retarded. They made the game entirely too easy to play.

Really? There was a period of time where I didnt play Halo 1 or 2 but when I came back, I played Halo 1, and it was so easy to play, then I went to Halo 2 and what a difference, it was actually harder to get back into Halo 2

I think you may be talking about campaign, while they are talking about multiplayer.

I miss the pistol plus I hate all the noob helpers they put and glitches. Plus I think its too dependent on who has the best guns. In Halo CE the pistol was the equalizer.

I found Halo 2's mutiplayer to be easier to get used, but I find better players than I did in Halo 1

Halo 2's multiplayer was great, on LAN and XBC, it was truely a great experience, Halo 1 was too laggy and it was hard to get good games going

Peace is a lie, there is only passion.
Through passion, I gain strength.
Through strength, I gain power.
Through power, I gain victory.
Through victory, my chains are broken.
The Force shall free me.

Because of the bloody auto aim. Noobs sniping the living crap out of me. Those stupid BXR and noob combo thingy. Halo 1 overall killed Halo 2 in storyline. Now, Halo 2 is still a good game, but its just not as good as Halo 1.

Yeah. Umm, you see, sniping in Halo 1 actually took skill. If you went onto Halo 2 as a Halo 1 sniper, you'd find that you could own any one, basically because the auto aiming is so high. It's just not cool, Bungie, to have noobs pick up a sniper rifle and stand there and kill you without zooming (coulda been a fluke shot too...). The storyline in Halo 2 was a bit weird. You see, in Halo 2 you started playing as the Arbiter, the grey elite dude. Then it goes back to Master Chief. On one of the missions, Master Chief jumps off the UNSC ship with da bomb and so how does he get on a Pelican so fast in the next mission he's in????????

Oh yes. For that guy who likes Cortana, and thinks she's "Hotter in Halo 2", seriously. GET A LIFE.

Im going to keep this simple.. Halo CE: Tons of skill.. And a well balanced game...
Halo2.. Terrible engine.. Ugly design.. No skill to shoot, thanks to HUGE hott boxes.. And noob weapons (Br, duel wieling, sword, PP, easy sticking) Im glad h3 is comming out.. its wayy more challenging then h2.. H1 FTW..

If there wasn't auto-aim in Halo 2, I'll bet most of you wouldn't be on Halo 1's side. Isn't it funny how one problem makes people hate something?

Not really. There are a lot of things that influence people besides the level of aim-assistance. For me, the change level of auto aim was one of the few things I didn't care bout.

This is a RETICULE, and that is a RETICLE. I'm using the latter to aim. And what are you using?

Aim-assist isn't a bad thing by itself, it's the amount of AA in H2 and the resulting glitches like BXR and sweep-sniping that annoy me. I've played H1 via LAN and XBC, and also H:PC -- no aim assist whatsoever and still perfectly playable.

I agree with most of Lurker_77's points except two:

1) Dual-wielding.
The idea isn't bad and actually quite logical: you've got a small and rather weak weapon, so why not wield two of them to make it more powerful? I actually like the idea, but I very much dislike the result as seen in H2. With the SMG as starting weapons and the abundance of dual-wieldable weapons on most maps, dual-wielding isn't as much an option as a necessity. Add to that the massive amount of aim-assist and you've got something that's ridiculously overpowered. I'm pretty much convinced that less aim-assist and less spread on the SMG would have made PR + SMG a decent and balanced option.

2) The Pistol
I know this topic has been beaten to death countless times, but the pistol was too powerful. In a way it really did balance gameplay, but at the same side restrict it. If you used anything else but the pistol, RL, or sniper rifle (and FRG and flame thrower in H:PC) you were doomed, so you had to use it, whether you wanted to or not.

Moo

Both games are great, but since I don't have XBL and really mostly play campaign, I have to give Halo CE the edge simply because I enjoy playing the campaign more in it.

But it starts with one thing, like auto-aim, then people try to find more problems with the game

Haha...what?!?! So now it's people's fault for finding problems, rather than the problems themselves?!?! Nonsense!!

I think you are just having difficulty coming to terms with the fact that people have valid gripes about the game. Not everyone is going to see the same problems - just because you don't see something doesn't mean it isn't there. Like I just said, the aim-assist was never something I initially noticed and was not a problem for me, so you can't go telling me it was the only problem I had with the game. Although overall I've enjoyed halo 2 on xbox live a great deal, there is plenty in the game that even from the start I found lacking.

I'm a dude playing a dude desguised as another dude. I hate heritics, non-logical thoughts and people who are better than I am. People tell me that they like a lot of games, but I hate them all. Whenever I play a video game, I always go crawling back to Halo 3. Never go full retard!

what is wrong with you? Halo 2 was much better than Halo 1.

  • 05.29.2007 2:49 PM PDT

Halo 2 was worse than Halo 1 in almost every single way.

Worse physics - Nades not moving vehicles, superbounces, no off host nade jumping, no nading weapons.

Worse weapon/power up spawns - timers start in a way that only the person who already has the powerup/weapon knows when they are coming back.

Worse player spawn system - Seemingly random spawns that often spawn you away from your teammates, right in front of an enemy. In Halo 1 if you got a bad spawn it was your teammates fault, in Halo 2 it's the games fault.

Terrible auto-aim - Four shot without even aiming at the person!!! YAAY!!!

Bad spawn weapon - If the first thing that someone has to do right when they spawn is immediately find a new weapon, something is wrong.

I could go on and on, but I don't think anyone wants to hear it.
