I'm excited about Halo 2 Vista because....

I'm not, as I can't get it, so meh. When I can get it, I will be excited because unless they mess up the KB/M controls, it will rock, I played it on Xbox and all I can say is with a kb+m and normalized PC hitboxes etc. I will be as enthrawled as I was with Halo PC.

Oh, and just reading the first page of halo2sucks.com, it is obvious to me that the creators are spoiled, bratty idiots. From what I have seen, there have been no less than 4k players on Halo 2 at any give time, and it often shoots up above 40k for hours, I say that Halo 2 is a resounding success from a business perspective, "dead or slow selling within a year"? My Arse. Yes, with a captiol "A".

Do you usually just blatantly fumble your way around a site, take a quick glance, and write a book about it believing you know the ins and out of it, or is this a special moment?

I stated that it was my first impression of the site, what more do you want? I read their front page message, and their supposed "Mission" page, if my oppinion can't be an educated one based on that, then I believe that makes them idiots by default for having such missleading content being the first thing people see, Halo 2 was not a perfect game, it had enough new and great stuff that it's downfalls do not affect the masses enjoyment of it, but it is great, and it is fun. That it isn't Halo 1 is not a downfall, I dare say Halo 2's problem is that it's on a console and not a PC, but we shall see when H2V comes out if a PC'ized Halo 2 is an improvement.

H2S used to be good, but now most of the people that don't like it don't know why they don't like it.

Dedicated servers, better graphics than Xbox, custom content, better community (most likely)... oh yeah, and dedicated servers.

From "numberous ppl"? I advise you not to believe everything you hear off the internet. Their computers may have been "brand spankin new," but for all you know, these new PCs could have low-end parts. You seem to be definitely exaggerating. It "lags every three seconds"? What does that mean? Does the computer literally freeze? Is it during a game?

Quite the contrary, Windows Vista seems to be doing pretty well. I know this through some trusted sources. If it is as bad as you say it is, that doesn't mean these issues can't be addressed.

Seriously.

Indeed. I'm running Vista on an XPS 410 (Dell) and it's fine. In fact, its been more stable than when it was on XP. It may be different for me though, I've got some really high-end hardware for what seems to be just for H2V right now. Think a Geforce 7950GX2 is enough?

Probably. Halo 2 will use DirectX 9 and I suspect won't look too shabby on DX9 GPUs.

I still say they needed to run direct X 10.

Agreed. I'm disappointed that the game won't support DX10 drivers. I mean, DX9 doesn't look bad by any means, but if they made it for Vista you would have expected them to optimize it to the best of their abilities.

Remember this is bungie, they don't like us as much as the xbox players so just crap to get by for us.

Couple reasons why I think DX10 wouldn't be a great idea:
1. They're already making a bunch of people buy a new OS, it'd probably be crossing the line to make them get a DX10 card just to get the maximum capabilities of the game.
2. The original game is almost 3 years old now. They're improving graphics, yes, but there would have to be hugemongous differences to require DX10 in the first place. If they were making changes that big it would be way more expensive than it already is.

The reasons that I can think of to sum things up is

1. Halo 2 for the pc, good for people without a xbox

2. Two new maps

3. You can make it brighter, so you can actually now play on multiplayer without using a flashlight
continusly

4. Bungie promisses that the map making process will be easyer to use.

5. Better Graphics

6. Custom emblyms and two colors to have, once again those without xbox.

7. In the end you have the new Windows Vista upgrade.

8. Bridgeing the gap between the two worlds of halo pc and halo ce

9.Custom Content

10. I can now be an elite...i hope.

11. Having a scoring system (if paid for) and rankings for players.

12. Pc clans will hopefully be able to be tracked because of this system.

13. The sword works, and the rocket launcher has a lock-on ability. no more "over use" of vehicales.

14. Destructable scenery will be a new aspect to halo pc gamers...sort of.

15. New weapons and vehicales that will sound, function, and DESTROY ALL THE PEOPLE correctly. in the most
perfect way we might be able to think of.

16. Showing a chance of halo 3 coming to pc as well as the Halo Wars.

And thats all i can think of right now as to why anyone would be excited to have halo 2 for the pc.

The best list so far, Halo wars won't come to computer, It is xbox360 exclusive. Btw, you forgot Live any where, and mouse+keybored the most important things.

well then I suggest that you stop listening to these 'numberous ppl' and judge it for yourself. I run Windows Vista 32bit on a laptop with an intergrated graphics card and only 0.99gb of ram and it runs as quick or even faster than xp! Critics criticise remember....

Back onto subject. I'm looking forward to everything Halo 2 was to Xbox and the custom maps, modding stuff and being able to take screenies finally. Also wanting to play it anywhere too without having to lugg my Xbox around.

Unfortunately i am not excited about H2V... in a way. My computer does not have vista- and vista costs around $100 and i dont have the $100 plus the $50 that the game is going to cost. If they didnt make it manditory to have vista installed, i would be completely Psyched about it... but the bastards are just trying to get us to buy vista so that they can get more money.... that bites
!

They would be ignorant not to make a PC release of Halo Wars, as it is an RTS. They have the potential to make a huge amount of money by doing so. I have a feeling we will be seeing a PC release.
