Wait...
What?

Well, I visited during the update and found something very interesting. Clicky Here

Notice that it says there are 3 players on Halo 2 (sometimes it jumped to 4) and that I have 2 Friends online, yet I couldn't get online. Interesting, huh?

You missed the point like Vader missed the banshee, your whole argument is covered in bees.
Stop sending me group invites -blam!-s!

Probably just a server glitch. Sometimes people are able to sign into XBL during these times but loose connection.

No, you're all wrong. (Haha!)

They're internal Xbox Live testers.. They have to make sure everything is still working.

So two of the people on his friends list are Microsoft internal testers? I think you may be wrong about that, Zag.

That's most likely a bug/glitch. Right there are indeed testers playing halo 2 though.

"I have no words that would do justice to the atrocities you commit to the English language, as well as your continued assaults on the concepts of basic literacy and logical reasoning."

No, Zag is correct. Those players were doing some testing on Production during the maintenance (not us, Xbox Live).

And they didn't have to be on your friends list to see who they were.

What?? How can people be shown as online on our friends list when they are not on our friends list? I have three "friends" online right now. Those three have been XBL testers this entire time and they didn't tell me?!?!

2B || !2B - Why don't you look Inside the Machine?

They're not friends, rather the entire population of Xbox Live in Halo 2 right now. I can see it as well and when all of the other 50,000+ people who play Halo 2 daily do.

It's probably a networking bug, telling him he has 2 friends online. Some of you guys should learn that things on the internet, especially during a huge update like this, aren't always reliable and especially not in real-time. (Of course, there are rare cases, but if you bring those up you're just looking to start an argument..)

I saw the same thing. There were two and sometimes four friends on line when I checked about 2:45 till about 4:00 pm. So it was just testing.

What?

I'm getting the strange feeling that you're misinterpreting what I saw. First, I knew that the update was going on, but thought it strange that there happened to be 4/3 players Online in Halo 2 (there's currently about 46,000 now that it's working again) Then I noticed that I had 2 friends online (neither one XBL testers to my knowledge) but I couldn't click on it to show me who they were.

Maybe that clears up a couple questions. I'm pretty sure it was just testers online. As for my 2 unknown friends, I don't know.

if you dont sign out you can stay on during the update. or at least thats what my friend claims...

i was talking to my friend on yahoo chat and he said he just kept his account signed in all night so that when testing started he could still play. i had no way of checking if he was on or not, but when i finally was able to sign in, he was already on, playing ffxi, which takes a while to sign into...

Up in the top corner where is usually is. Yesterday it said i had 9 friends on but really I didn't have any. it might have been done on purpose so the site didn't lag or it might be a glitch. I reported it.
