My suggestion would be to block the user. I suppose if they start harrassing you on multiple Windows Live ID accounts, then you should report it..

[edit: But even then, it's just a simple button press to block PMs from a user.]

"I pledge to punch all switches, to never shoot where I could use grenades, to admit the existence of no level except Total Carnage, to never use caps lock as my "run" key, and to never, ever, leave a single BoB alive."

If it is an excessively large amount of prolific cussing, content, etc., I usually block them and report them to a Ninja. If you feel threatened by them or if you feel that it is necessary, I would report it.

Cortana 5 is a carbon-based lifeform that frequently visits these forums, currently residing in the United States. Practically every male on the site responds to her posts.

The Joyeuse IP Formula

There is something in, I belive, the code of conduct that if the messages are threatening (i.e. "I'm gonna come over and -blam!- you") then you probably should report it and something about the staff getting the proper authorities involved.

Right. Cyber-bullying is just as serious and illegals and physical bullying.

Oh, I should mention, death threats are illegal. Report those, if you feel there's something really dangerous going on.. But chances are unlikely. I really just suggest you block idiots who can't controlled their mouths.

Old school Bungie, born and raised,
In the Septagon is where I spend most of my days.
Relaxin', maxin', posting all cool,
Talking about Halo, life and some school.
Got in one little argument, and the mods got scared,
they said "You're gonna get banned and your member title'll be bare!"

Further more, while it can be done, blacklisting doesn't end a users PM'ing privelages...

I work for the Department of Defense.

Too true, Recon said it best... Theres hardly any way to prove it. Even a screen shot could be be "shopped"

I've received a derogatory email as well, just need to block em.

There is a reason I am user ID 1 and my account creation date is before this site came online.

I'll add this to the discussion though. If a person is willing to take the time to send you a PM that is breaking the rules, chances are they are breaking the rules elsewhere on the forums. Send a Mod or Master Mod a screen shot of the PM, and most will probably look into it. They won't be able to blacklist the person based merely upon the screenshot, but chances are the person is breaking rules elsewhere and it gets them on the Mods radar.

Strange evolution how people have come to believe
That we are it's greatest achievement
We're barely, we're just a collection of cells
Overrating themselves

Not only that, but if the mod finds the content to be worthy of Bungie's and Achronos' involvement, they have better ways of making sure that its seen by the appropriate people.

Last I knew, Achronos can see anything he wants to as far as messages and the like go.

I believe you are right, after all, Achronos is a man-god. He is all seeing and all knowing.
