Well, Dell's aren't bad, but in reality, you're just paying for the name. Same with Alienware.

Alienwares used to kick major ass.

Yeah, Alienware I think is even worse when it comes to overpriced stuff. I just chose the lesser of two evils.

Becuase Dell bought out Alienware (just in case you didn't know). How about laptops? Can you build one yourself (like from sites such as newegg?). For me, building your own computer is much too time consuming to be a consideration when buying a computer. I'm much more content with buying one, even if it is more costly. In my opinion, Dell is the best way to go when buying a laptop, in terms of "bang for the buck". Can anyone corroborate (or bash for that matter)? I've been on a number of sites, and in terms of customization using decent parts, I always seem to get a lower price on Dell. Only when you start getting into the higher numbers (such as the dell XPS laptop line) does dell become somewhat shady in terms of price.

Cheers.

Wait, are they making a limited edition of H2V? If so, crap, I need more monies.

As for cost, you guys seem to have it pretty easy.

Dell XPS 410: $4000
H2V: (>=?) $50
Total: Guess

you do realise that if you build your own pc and buy all the screen, mouse, etc from computer warehouses and swap-meets for $1000 to $1500 dollars and u could improove on that, get an extra gig of ram, or a better processor and itll still cost under $2000

i have done this stuff before so if u feel like calling me an idiot and still order the ovepriced computer its ur life not mine

just saying that as a precautionaury measure, its nothing personel

if u can replace whats already in there just think of it as if uve just taken out all the parts and are adding the new ones

and if u need more help u can get instruction manuals off the net, at swap-meets and computer warehouses

There's nothing wrong with buying pre-built six-thousand dollar power towers, except that you could probably make a better machine with half that amount of money if you did it yourself. If money isn't an issue, then go for it.

No, with alienware half the price of it is basically having the alienware badge on it. It's buying an expensive Mercedes 4-door sedan when you can get all those features in, for example, a Suburu.

My PC came up to around $1400 (ASD) whereas if I had bought those specs with an Alenware it would've been over double the price.

Maw

I recently built a semi-used Vista capable computer. It would have been worth at least $1,000, but I forgot to put in the cooling system. This comp was hot. So hot the processor melted. Then it was smoking.
