Thank you Frankie for being awesome and for being so benevolent and kind with the Halo mappage. I your humle servent will steal $4, in an elaborate stock manipulation scheme I learned from Jim Cramer, to download them as soon as I get home from school today.

Sorry bud, they're not quite out yet.

Everyone feels sick the first time they kill someone... but killing is one of those things that gets easier the more you do it.

Wow i guess i am a little disappointed. I was hoping that red chiron would be one of the maps coming out. I also would have liked to have seen more than just 2 maps. These two arent really my favorites but oh well, its nice to see some flavor added back to halo 2.

I DON'T HAVE A CREDIT CARD! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Then you are one of the many thousands of children who should be staying away from Halo 2. Please do not buy Halo 3. Thank you much goodbye.

Wait, so does that mean I have to pay twice to get them on both Original and 360??

-blake

Probably... and I'll have to buy them 3 times: 2 orig. xbox and 1 360. This is a reward? I thought rewards were usually something you get for free?!?

I suppose any new content for a game as old as Halo2 is considered a reward despite how much money the make off of it....

What's that sound I here? Oh yeah: It's the WAHbulance... come on man. $12 you'll only need to pay once. Suck it up.

It's nice they are releasing new maps and all but they were said to be 360 exclusive maps and now they are not. I don't have a credit card on my account since it's not needed on the Xbox 360 like it was on the xbox so I have no way to buy these maps since I can't buy them using MS points. A lot of my friends are the same way and I think Bungie made a big mistake doing these maps this way. All well, back to Oblivion I go......

i am in the same boat, and dont want a credit card linked to my gamertag because of the recent tag stealing

I was really looking forward to these new maps, but access to a credit card is something I don't have, what's the point of making Microsoft points to eliminate the need for a credit card when there's still going to be downloads that require having one. I hope that the downloads are going to be free after a while or at least people will be able to use Microsoft points.

I'm sure you guys can find some nice adult to help you out. Heck, I'd do it for you if I lived near you. I believe you're eager enough to get it done... :)

There are plenty of adults (like me) who don't have credit cards. Credit cards are a scam and rip off people's money.

Because, as already explained, they are being delivered through Halo 2's inbuilt content downloader. Which didn't have the benefit of XBL 360 and its MS points. It was the same for the original map pack maps.

Why complain now, about a game thats been around for 2 1/2 years? If you really want a game that uses MS points for content, get a freaking 360 game.

Halo 2 still represents the best non-360, console implementation of game content transactions, and Frankie may be telling us tonight whether they will eventually become free.

Honestly, people are being silly.

First complain that theres not enough Halo 2 content, then complain that there isn't a HEH remake, then complain that they're only 360, then complain that they're no longer 360-exclusive, then complain that they are being delivered through halo 2; the game that they were designed for.

AAAAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH <--- is my reaction.

Sorry, I forgot to quote.

What he said!

The maps won't play the same thanks to the fact there's no fall dammage.

Interesting thought, but I think you're overlooking the fact that these aren't merely reissues of the same map. They were designed from scratch using the old maps as inspiration. I'm guessing that the overhead floor plan might be identical, but dimensions and other aspects were probably tweaked significantly in order to make them more conducive to H2 game play. Also, I think it's safe to assume that they were thoroughly play-tested... In other words: Rest easy; They'll probably be pretty fun. :)

Stooping to the lowest level of whoring...

My Halo 3 Wishlist, My File Share, Blood Gulch, Halo 1 CTF

God, why did they waste their time with these garbage maps? Where's Sidewinder, Damnation, Chill Out, or Rat Race? Prisoner or even Chiron?

Good to know Bungie's all about crap maps. That explains Colossus, I guess.

OK, seriosuly whoever is complaining about the fact that you can't use M$ points is retarted. This is an XBOX game, and is running on the 360 THROUGH EMULATION!! Till the 360 came out everyone was fine with using their CC's for everything, but now all of a sudden people like the points?? Hell, I think the points are the most retarted thing about the XBLM. If everything I wanted to purchase had a price tag next to it with REAL DOLLAR VALUES, I'd have spent alot more there already. I have my 360 for about a year already, and to date have only purchase $25 worth of stuff. Those M$ points throw me off and I HATE THEM.

Now on to the topic at hand. HEH was a great map, but it was a great map for Halo 1. Without the fall damage and without the pistol, it just won't be the same. Sidewinder would have been PERFECT for Halo 2. Also, I feel like I'm being nickel and dimed. The game is 2 1/2 years old already, and these maps are 6 years old. You making me pay? Seriously??

$4 or 320 MS Points is way too much to pay for only two maps for a game that will be 3 years old this November. Like the original Halo 2 map packs, are these going to be free in a few months or will they be $4 forever?

I dont know why everyone is complaining about not being able to use ms points to buy it and having to use a credit card. Correct me if im wrong but dont you have to use a credit card anyways to get ms points?

  • 03.30.2007 11:48 AM PDT

Fear is the path to the Dark Side!

1 Question:

Will the maps be free eventually? (How else will they add them to matchmaking? I guess that makes 2 questions.)

I hate that I have to buy them for both sytems. (I don't think we should pay for them at all).
My Xbox travels for LAN parties and my 360 stays at home. Now I have to pick one to always play Halo 2 with.
