I bought my Xbox the first day it came out. The controller that came with it (the duke controller) is still working fine today. That same week i bought a madcatz controller. It stopped working about 3 months later. Then i immediatly bought a Pelican trick controller. That controller was awesome until it stopped working 9 months later. By then i was pissed off with third party controllers so i bought i microsoft controller-s. Two months ago it too died and now i'm using the first controller that came with my xbox.

The Questions: Is there a certain way i should wrap my Xbox controllers? How long do your controllers last? I am about to buy two new controllers, what is the best one i should buy?

Buy the normal ones that xbox makes. Those are best.

The special Ps2 controllers do just like the special xbox controllers.

I'm still using the vanilla Xbox controller that came with my console, it works fine despite dropping on hard floor a few times. My brother uses a third party controller that doesn't work fine and he's not as clumsy as I.
I also find the official Microshaft controllers more comfortable and easy to use than anything else I've tried, which is odd considering how different the official ones are and how similar the imitation dealies are. Maybe there's a special magic that goes into the originals...

the dukes last the longest( in my expirience). i've gone through a couple 3rd party ones, but the dukes are by far the best.

3rd party anything(excluding games) sucks. It's a fact of gaming life.

Mad Catz controllers suck. Mine started screwing up three days after I got it. It would constantly side step to the right. I felt sorry cause my friend had to use it.

Dukes? Is that what they're called?
My original vanilla controller's still working fine for me. I have one third party controller that started doing goofy stuff after a couple o' months of use. I'm thinking about getting one of the newfangled smaller ones to replace the one that's messed up so that my brother can keep playing, but only since I can't find one of the original big ones. He says that he doesn't like the new smaller ones as much as the original design for US release, so he'll inherit mine while I get the new one. I hope the new one's made to the same standard of quality as the original...

It is, but it's designed for smaller hands. I bet you knew that.

I heard about the smaller hands thing, but I don't feel it. Both variants fit my hands comfortably, with my fingers easily reaching everything. My hands are acually a bit smaller than average among my peers, but I like the bigger controller as much as the smaller one. I'm still trying to decide whether I prefer the bigger controller with its tighter A,B,X,Y button placement or the smaller one with the black and white buttons conveniently under the right thumb...
