Also the AR is actually good in CQB now and no longer a glorified baseball bat.

It's very stable for me. It's more stable for me than XP is.

What it is.

I'm running Vista right now and it is very stable. The one and only problem i have had is with nVidia's drivers, but with their beta driver it has temporarily fixed the problem, except in some games like Halo PC(i have to run it in 800x600 and nothing higher nor lower). Aside from that, the people that do complain are probably the ones that havnt even tried it. I believe it's a perfectly fine OS and the 1st service pack can only bring more improvements.

You should never be so quick to believe what others have to say over the Internet. Having said that, I can trust some reliable sources like that of HardOCP or PC Gamer.

Windows Vista isn't as bad as you say it is. This is a moot point anyway; eventually, Vista will become superior to Windows XP, and will offer better performance.

Wow, so many people judge game's and OS's so much, even though they just came out or they are still waiting for release. Also, the people who said that to you, they just don't want you to buy it, or they have minimum requirements, and they probably don't know what their talking about.

There is no emotion, there is peace.
There is no ignorance, there is knowledge.
There is no passion, there is serenity.
There is no chaos, there is harmony.
There is no death, there is the Force.

Im just dissapointed in general that Halo 2 Vista isint compatible for XP as well as for Vista. Its as if were being forced to get Vista..
If I were to get Vista(and I want to get it), I would get it at least next year when all bugs and crashes have been fixed.

The few, the proud, the leet.

Vista has been more stable than XP since it was in early beta. The only problems you might have is from drivers and a few not-so-compatible programs that the developers refuse to patch. I've done some pretty mean things to the OS and have only gotten it to crash when really messing with drivers and registry settings. Other than that, it runs faster as time goes on and it learns how you typically use the OS . Once you start using it, it's hard to go back to XP.

Good way to put it, preach on! Vista is a good OS, just there are a few compatibility issues which i'm sure will be fixed soon.

Yes, I am a hypocrite, and I'm sorry. I really do mean well, but I'm not running on all cylinders.

Everytime someone buys a copy of Halo 2 Vista, a puppy dies.

I think Halo 2 Vista is gonna be exactly what we're expecting. Halo 2 Xbox with mouse+keyboard controls and map editing tools. Booya?

EDIT: Okay, and dedicated servers (right?) and a whole other community of Halo 2 Vista players since they'll be a world apart from the Xbox Live players.

No-ones being forced to get Vista any more than Xbox users were forced to get 360s for the latest games.

Also personally, I have had ONE crash in Vista since the RC1 release which was down to me stopping random processes to save memory and stopped a critical one. Win98 was being 'patched' up until they stopped supporting it full stop. Xp is STILL being updated and thats more than a year old.

Most of the "bugs and crashes" are down to exploits people find (which will NEVER be 100% blocked), viruses being created and updates from 3rd party companies. All of which are an ongoing thing and will not be solved by waiting. (Unless there is a CRITITCAL peice of software that doesn't work and hasn't been patched by the manu.

The only problem with vista is that it dosnt run most microsoft games. Other than that, its the perfect operating system.

You're forgetting there are still bugs to be fixed and other issues to be addressed, such as the fact that many programs are not compatible with Vista at the moment and that Vista offers lower performance than Windows XP when it comes to game. I wouldn't call that a perfect operating system.

There's bugs and isses to be adressed still in XP and indeed Win98 before that. They were still producing patches and updates right up until the last day they were supporting the OS.

You have to remember that the sotware previously was written to take advantage of the OS at the time. Something written for a computer that later gets the OS updated to something that is written differently wouldn't really be expected to work AT ALL. Patches can fix some performance issues by changing the hooks they perform into the OS but items written for Vista shouldnt suffer from lower performance because they were written for *THAT* specific OS.

That's what I'm saying: You can't have a perfect operating system. People should give Vista a chance to develop fully before they shoot it down.

If you have at least 1gb of ram, it -blam!- rocks. I love it. I have had it since day one, and just... when it starts up, you feel godly.
