The End

‘The conscious is cancerous if allowed to linger’

"Even if you're on the right track, you'll get run over if you just sit there."

My X-box live account has expired and I am getting it renewed in september. I was told by someone at microsoft help that i would be able to still download things and talk on the chat in the X-box dashboard. I can't seem to do this however it just says my account has expired and I can't do what I wanted to do- download the new kickass Halo 2 maps for split screen.

I was then more annoyed when I found out that a disk containing the maps isn't to be released and so i am crying out for help, I need to know how I can download the maps (and I am unable to renew my account) on my original X-box. Help, please!

*Please try not to answer with pointless short sentences which won't help such as "No." or "Yes." because it will only make it harder for me to read helpful posts.

On your original Xbox I think you'll need an account. On the 360 you can still do that other stuff because you get demoted to the free Silver service (heh) which allows you to do stuff like chat etc... But on the old Xbox without a Gold-level (paid) account you won't be able to connect to Live and download the maps.

If you have a really helpful and kind friend with an account he could recover it to your old Xbox, download the maps then remove the account... You'd have to pay him his $4 though. That might work: Otherwise you're going to have to upgrade to Gold, at least for one month. :]
