Subject: Halo 1 pc without key?

A couple years ago I bought Halo ce for my computer, played it for a while and then one day it just dissapeared. I thought that my one of my brothers friends stole it so I gave up on looking and threw away my box along with the stuff that was in it.
One day (about 2 months ago) my mom was cleaning out the closet and said that she found a game and it ended up being halo. I don't have the cd key anymore because I figured I would never see the game again. Is there any way I can play it?

Stupid parents let their stupid children play games that are rated M when they should be playing Big Birds Spelling Adventures

Also the AR is actually good in CQB now and no longer a glorified baseball bat.

Not without buying another cd key. Sorry.

Doesn't that CD key recovery tool only work if the game still has entries in the registry? I'm not 100% on this, but if you've uninstalled Halo, the game might have deleted the registry entries it created on install. Something to look into? Or am I totally off the mark and the program recoveres the Key from the CD itself? I've never had a reason to use it so...

If it read it off the cd you could pirite it if you download it onto a burned disc.
If you need a cd key go buy another copy it's only $20.

Yes it does have ot be all the way installed or it wont work, and it that doesn't work really the only other thing i could think to do is find a crack, or if you want another way talk to me and I will have my friend tell you how to do this other way (I don't really know it becuase I have never had to use it) Ultimatly the easiest way to fix this problem is to not use the CD, obviosuly you knew that already (I hope).

Yes, I am a hypocrite, and I'm sorry. I really do mean well, but I'm not running on all cylinders.

Everytime someone buys a copy of Halo 2 Vista, a puppy dies.

Recon, I think Hews is talking about me. Back in my anti-Bungie-MS days I went through 2 game discs. After I calmed down I found a way to play without the discs in the CD-ROM drive. It's technically breaking the rules, but I do have all the packaging and the CD fragments to prove I bought the game repeatedly. Not sure I'd share my method with someone I couldn't prove paid for the game, though.

EDIT: I also use my own CD keys o_O
