I fix computers for family and friends on my side time, and this one is a big problem. The computer was working fine, but yesterday morning, the computer was completely taken over.

-Everytime someone logs in, IE comes up trying to load a page called Wizard Search
-ZoneAlarm (the computers protection) never loads up like it is supposed to
-After about 30 seconds, the computer crashes and restarts

At first, I thought it was a rouge spyware/hijack. I've tried system restoring, scanning the entire computer through safe mode, creating new accounts to bypass the problem, ran registry cleaners, uninstalled any new programs from the last month, ran virus/spyware/malware scanners, looked through MSCONFIG, and trashed all unnecessary files. None of this has solved the problem (although I did find and remove a high security virus and two Trojans).

I think the only way to get rid of this problem now is to wipe the drive and start over fresh. Does anyone have something I can try and solve the problem? Remember that I can only work in Safe mode, as anything else causes the computer to crash after loading.

im afraid im gonna have to confiscate your testicles.

What are you, the Cyber police? lol.

I have a hijack bug and it wont seem to go away. Though the only thing I can think of to solve your problem is to do what you said, start out fresh or get professional help for a decent price. I myself arent as good with computers. I have tried basically all I can think of to get rid of this hijacking bug, I get sick of my homepage being screwed up and especially being jumped to some pr0n site that I have to x out. I ran scans with my virus detectors and I deleted the things it found and whenever I scan again its still there. Right now its still in my computer but im still cracking at it.
