Do you actually have something important to tell them or are you just spamming them?

Thank you. Also a couple of other factors you need to take into consideration. One Ash is across the pond so he might actually be busy trying to sleep or possibly playing Final Fantasy 11. Two if you send a PM that is nothing but spam or is barely readable then maybe they ignored it.

You need to remember that we are people with lives. Just because you see us make a post that does not mean we are still online or at least on Bungie.net. We will get back to it when we can.

Besides you did not even PM me at all. Jerk. Now I feel left out.

I didn't even know you were a mod. :P And would it kill ya to put a colon after "one" and "two"?

ie: "one: ash is across the pond... two: if you send a PM..."

Also... we don't know what he sent in is PM's so it's not spam yet.

Why would they need to reply? I send them messages reporting problem users; they don't need to send me a message back telling me that they did their job. And not all moderators like to just chat with you, and you shouldn't expect them to do so. There are a few who'll humor you, but if you want to do that then contact them through WLM, AIM, or another instant messenger program.

Just adding to your list of reasons why! You have to remember that you are not the only one PMing, mods can sometimes have 100's of messages and it is very hard for them to answer straighy away. They may even have to delete messages with random titles or which are in caps lock just so they can get to the important stuff. My advice is to be patient and to try PMing every now and then if you message too much you'll get blocked and then your messages will certainly not get through!

Here's an example:

Subject: Problem with javascript
Javascript isn't working on the site, I can't make threads, but for some reason I can post in threads. wtf?

Subject: re: Problem with javascript
Do you have a FireFox browser? FireFox has a problem with javascript, use IE untill it's fixed. Or you could download a plugin for FireFox that switches it to IE when you click javascript links

Some PM's to mods have questions that need answered. That is why mods reply to PM's.

Yes. However, they usually address the situation without having to reply to me.

Depends what you're PMing them. If it's something that isn't spam or such, they will. I've PM'd several mods along with Achronos himself, and I've recieved responses.

Bah, I can do both at the same time, I'm getting the boat to Mhaura right now :( Moderating > Gamez (but moderating doesn't take nearly as long)

Mike D, I didn't reply to your 2 reports because after reading it I went and locked the thread. Then onto the next PM... I get forgetful..

The one PM where you actually asked a question, you followed with...

And dont not respond to this just to be funny lol

You want me to answer your question, but then you don't? Make your mind up. :(

Ach! Was ist los?

I reply to PMs when they contain something worth replying to, like a request for help. Getting random "hi lol" PMs out of the blue, which has happened a few times in recent memory, just makes me stock up on Hoppes #9.

Um, would I make you all feel bad if I told you that BobBQ and I go bowling on Thursdays...

Right; Zag hurls the ball and I try to knock all the pins down with a Tokarev before it gets there.

Much harder than it sounds, I assure you.

Correct. I think we're going 3 to 5 now. Bob's favor. :(

He needs a new hobby.

He said "don't not respond to this just to be funny". There was a double negative in there. ;]

I have almost had them all answered and that's about twenty. I'm sure the reason you haven't gotten an answer is due to them being busy and/or away.
Oh yeah, make sure your messages are actually readable and make sense, that should help.

No but I have only sent two. Though I was annoyed with the first one not being responded to, as it was a question, I don't mind. However I do think his opinion is wrong.

I remember when I used this space to put cool looking links to my chapters back in the day. I don't even know why I'm using it now. Why are you even reading this? You must be interested in me. Still reading?

Yes, all the time. I think I know the answer to your problem:

A moderator is always working to make B.net a better place for users. Moderators will help by answering intelligent questions. Give them enough information to see your problem or statement and wait for a reply.

Example: I am having problems reply to threads in the forums. I skim through a thread click "Reply" and it says that an error occured. Is the B.net server down or something?

A moderator, like he is supposed to do, will gladly help you out as much as he can and send your any information on the topic.

Stupid questions are considered ritorical to moderators and they will feel that it would be a waste of time to send an un-needed PM back to the user.

Example: Dude, wuz up. Have you ever heard of me?

A moderator probaly won't answer to it and waste his time.

Simply send something to the moderator that is detailed, not a random, senseless thought, and to the point and they will gladly help.

P.S. Also, don't send PMs to mods who have been inactive for a long length of time. Look into kd5shw's "Find out which mod is online" thread to see which mod will be most useful to PM. (link is currently down)

SPOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!

What's a PM? It sounds like a sort of personal messaging system, but I didn't know this site had one. How do you use it? Is it that envelope icon right next to the words "message center"? I always thought if I pressed that button I'd get a bunch of junk mail, and I don't want that, so I've never pressed that button before. There are numbers next to it too. What are those there for?

This whole thing sounds confusing.

I'll respond to a PM if there is something to respond to. If someone asks me a question, I'll try to answer it. If someone sends me a bad thread/user, I'll take care of it, and usually send a "thank you" back to them. Although, when it gets busy, I might not reply back. I assume the other mods do the same thing. So, although I try to respond to PMs that warrant a response, I don't always have time. But, if the message is simply "lol hi lol" or "I HOPE U DIE -blam!-", I don't usually send a reply. Unless I feel like messing with their heads, but I'm not usually in that kind of a mood.

(PS spamming a mods inbox with pointless messages is not the best of ideas. I know of a certain Master Moderator who will ban you for that kind of thing, so I'd avoid sending the mods unnecessary messages. Except for TriggerHappy and Achilles. They love PMs. The more the merrier. I'm sure they'd both appreciate a few random PMs sent every few hours. Give it a try.)

If its something like: I'm not sure i understand this rule, or that rule. They will respond. If its something like.... "Wasup!!! Your awesome!!!".... a reply is doubtful. They will respond if its something legitimate (but keep in mind..... Frankie, Recon, and Achronos, get a ton of PMs, it might take them a while to sort through the trash, and find your PM.)

Where's the "Sometimes" answer? When I was blacklisted, I had to PM the mod who did it around 4 times before I actually got a reply out... I don't know how to answer, lol. Other than that I don't believe that I have ever PMed a mod.
