There should be a custom emblem avatar generator. What I mean by this is something like on Nikon.bungie.org, where you can generate the emblem, for your gamertag. They should have something like this on Bungie.net, so that you can “choose” your Avatar. The reason I want this is that my current symbol, is entirely based on my Clan, and its ranking system. I personally prefer the skull king symbol. I would like to be able to use this symbol on Bungie, even though I can’t use it on XBL. Its just something I kind of want, and I like my clan. I mean its not like you can make something “bad” seeing, as whatever you could make, could be made on XBL. There could be a button like “generate symbol”… and when you click on it, you could create a new emblem, and use that as your symbol. I don’t see a reason, to not include this. I would like to have the Skull King on Bungie, even though I can’t have it on XBL, for clan related reasons. Some people might want a different symbol on Bungie.net. It would be cool, and not take up a lot of room, and the code could be copied off of Nikon.bungie.org, where they have it. It would be quite nice, and I would love having a different Emblem as my Avatar on Bungie.

Are you really going to be kicked out of your clan for having the Skull King emblem? Sheesh.

Yep... Emblem is all based on rank. But even then... people might want a different symbol on XBL, and on Bungie.

Very good idea. I currently don't have live so I cant link my gamer tag and emblem. Doing this would help alot of members who dont have live to add a custom emblem.

Another good reason for doing so.

I remember when I used this space to put cool looking links to my chapters back in the day. I don't even know why I'm using it now. Why are you even reading this? You must be interested in me. Still reading?

It would be nice but the choosing your own avatar thing as it is know keeps it organized. People would be uploaing pictures of their own ass's if they had the oppurtunity. That wouldn't be very nice....especially Evilcam's..... O.o

One of the benefits of linking your gamertag to your account is that you get a custom emblem. If you were able to have an emblem generator right off the bat, what's the incentive to have accounts that are worth anything? Linking gamertags is one thing that makes the accounts around here worth anything.

I still think any clan that forces it's members to use a specific emblem is a crummy clan and it won't last very long. Look, there's already signs of mutiny coming from the topic starter. The fact that you even posted shows a problem.

I personally choose an emblem I like to have both on Bungie.net and on XBL. You should do the same.

The whole "emblem" thing was on the fritz for a while. Specifically, right after teh nu hawtness launched.

My emblem icon was "toggled", and the circular thing around the spade was switched off, but for some reason on b.net it decided to stay lit, and take the color of the primary emblem color. So yeah, I just had this white circle in my emblem.

I just got it fixed, but it was annoying.

I work for the Department of Defense.

I only read like, 5 words and i already know all about this thread.

No. The emblems are ALREADY abused. Cant imagine if you could make your own.

Also. Being forced to change your emblem to associate with your non-exsistant "rank" is pathetic. A good clan doesn't assume the role of a communism in order to produce results.

That's a problem right there. This user doesn't want a custom avatar, he wants an avatar generater that lets you use XBL emblems for an avatar. He doesn't want to make new ones, just use the current set of emblem without a linked GT. Abuse? The only mildly obscene use of this is making a dick emblem, and I rarely see that, even on Live. Most people wouldn't know how to make one.

I think that it would be nice, but it also provides motivation to link a Gamertag.

Yeah... well you didn't even read my post. Other people would want this for other reasons, that is my personal reason. I don't care about good, i care about active, and this clan has at least 10 members on when i play. So i get people to party up with.

you know... you can use multiple accounts on XBL. Like the player accounts, not gamertags. just log into the account you want the elblem of and then log out, so the most recent one will show up on Bnet right after.

If you want the Skull King thingy, just make a new account, not gamertag, with the elblem you desire. log into that one on XBL after logging out when ur done. Then log out and turn off your XBOX. when u go on B.net, as soon as it updates, it'll show the Skull King one because it's the most recent.

Although your reason is a good one, there are plenty more reasons why custom avatars would be good. I mean, isn't Bungie.net just about the only website in the world that doesn't allow you to upload your own avatar?

Yeah I could do that... but then all of the you are a "noob" comments and stuff would just get annoying because all my (not so good in the first place) level would go down to level 1s.

good point. no, but wait, that's not what i mean.

you don't need a new gamertag. just new player profile. they'd use the same gamertag, thus the same ranks as well. just use the profile u have now for the clan only or something like that. or just never use the account for anything other than emblem.

that wouldn't work, because then it would also change my clan one too.... right? I mean the profiile you sign in with, is the avatar... so i would get the boot.
