I don't know for sure, so don't hold me on this. But last time I heard, is that mods would start handing out warnings to those that manually put a sig into their post. For a positive answer, I suggest you contact one of the mods.

I was just about to create a thread about this. The sigs are now gone and there isn't anypoint in them anymore. We can't advertise our crap cause nobodies gonna go over our icon and purposly look at our sigs.

No. I would think that the sigs where moved for a reason, and manually putting a signature at the bottom of your post would go against that.

What's so terribly important about your sig that you have to have it visible all the time?

I don't know that there's any rule against it, but it would probably make your posts look pretty stupid.

It is dumb. I look at people's sigs when I am waiting for people to respond. And banannagirl, no one wants to look at you sucking anything, perv.

I'm pretty sure theres a reason, but why even have the sigs if they aren't visible to regular forum goers. Theres no point basiclly

I work for the Department of Defense.

They were removed for a reason. I think that doing that is almost as bad as profanity-filter evasion.

a little 2-letter signoff will mostly go unnoticed, but pasting your real sig into the end of every post will likely get you a warning, for visual pollution if nothing else, which i hear, is something Pezza is very keen on.

All kidding aside, I could see that getting very annoying.. A signature, such as signing off posts with a

The location of the sigs on this site has "raised the bar" for people who think that it is free billboard space. In order to get people to look at their sig, they are going to need to make posts that are relevant and show themselves to be someone who other members might be interested in getting additional information on. No more can an "I agree" reply also include the bonus of an ad for their site, or their group, or a brain-stealing link.

If someone posts for crap, then they, their posts AND their sig can be easily passed over.

That means that the sigs will go unused as most people post stupid crap like this. and even if they do post something smart thats not gonna make me wanna look at their sig and alot of other people will share my views. Besides the classifieds(which I might add hardly anyone uses) the only way you can advertise your groups is through the sig and PMing(which takes a while and you only get 1 person for every 100 you PM) now that the sig is hardly looked at you only have two other options.

Also puting something like
-BB-
at the bottom of your post shouldn't be considered offtopic and just as a sign off.

Oh yeah, more too add, Alot of some peoples sig is cut off, further incapacitating the sig.

Well, there you have a point, but I predict that the classifieds will still go unused.

Check out this meaningless space that used to hve a meaning that used to be here, but achronos got angry and made it explode, enveloping the nav bar in the process.

Edit:
Grrr.. now I'm angry, I can't make lines anymore.

Achronos did that on purpose. So, technically, the sig limit is now about 450 chars. (Because that's how much the space will desplay). Read that one thread about bugs in this forum.

I work here: Sound Devices, LLC. We make bad-ass field audio gear, and you think that's awesome. My messy desk (With work-related items on the computer screen).

One does not simply grenade jump into Mordor...

NO. Why do you think they moved the sigs to the hidden rollover in the first place?

I remember when I used this space to put cool looking links to my chapters back in the day. I don't even know why I'm using it now. Why are you even reading this? You must be interested in me. Still reading?

I don't see why we couldn't. But if you want to waste your time every time you post then go right ahead. I think the B.net Member Card is a pretty cool feature. Sure we can't advertise Chapters, websites, etc. anymore like with the good ole' Bungie but...oh well.

I think it depends on what you're doing. If it's a giant advertisement for groups and your "leet Halo 2 stats" than probably not, but something like putting your name at the bottom is. I mean, even TGP puts the little "-TGP" thing at the bottom of his posts.
