Subject: It's late, and the mods are nowhere to be found.

Deal with it.

It gets really out of hand around here at 2AM-4AM PST. I think that some more mods should be appointed who can police the forums at this hour, because frankly, I'm tired of it.

What, I'm right here. The thing is sometimes all of us are busy, or just doing something else.

I think you should remember that the mods are volunteers and only moderate these forums in there spare time. You can't expect them to always be around, and if everyone follows the simple rule of "Don't reply to spam/inappropriate content" there wouldn't really be a problem since these threads that contain spam/inappropriate content would easily be pushed into the depths of page 2.

Mods have lives to you know. They aren't going on Bungie every hour on the hour. But 2:00 AM is a bit early for the computer isn't it? 1:30 tops for me when I'm on though!

You people have just sent my sides into orbit. A bunch of MLG try hards sucking the dick of some supposed pro half the thread hasn't even heard of. Classic.

Sorry about that. I guess I should tell my friends and my employer to shove it because I need to moderate a forum. You do realize that some of us have lives outside of this place right? Sorry about being blunt, but it gets under my skin when people feel we should be on this site 24/7.

SPOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!

Usually I stay on long into the morning on the weekends, but I've had a looong week. So I decided that being a normal human was warranted this weekend, rather than moderating.

Sue me.

It seems that crappy work weeks were all the rage lately.

This past week, I was up to my eyeballs in work and when I got back to the hotel, sleep was the only thing on the agenda.

But now I am home, in the house, avoiding the cold (and chores), going through my PM backlog and permaban requests.

The really good news for the OP? This is all text-based. It's not like XBL where it's all verbal and the best that you can do is say "someone said something nasty to me". Because this is text, because what we say stays until it is edited or removed, if someone is misbehaving, a member only needs to report it and move along. When we get the PM, IM, e-mail, or smoke-signals, the text is still there and we can take care of things.

Sure, it's not instantaneous, but it doesn't have to be. A forum disruption, even the most horrific (and they are nothing compared to the some in my memory) are just that. Text on a screen. Waiting to be read and dealt with. It's nothing that can harm anyone or cause the ice-caps to melt.

An "emergency" on the forums is usually more a sign that someone's priorities are in need of review.

When do you sleep?(!)

Only a little more than Louis Wu.

Let's see, he gets Tuesdays, from 10:30 AM to 3:00 PM and Thursdays.

I think that I'm also allowed alternate Saturdays too. Supervised. But I'd need to check the court order to be sure.

It's ok Recon.
While you were gone I chose not to spam, becuase I knew you wanted to take a break from the forums (didn't know you were doing work away from home though), and not have to come back to my mess.

I know, I'm such a nice person ;)

I hope that while you were making the choice not to intentionally spam, that you discovered that the forums are enjoyable and rewarding when used as intended.

Because I would be really pleased if people discovered (as I have) that this place and this community can be a very interesting and fun place to spend time. Especially if that time is spent constructively.

I have to admit, it was enjoyable last night to argue with users over re-setting the stats. I was up till 2 a.m. having wonderful discussions. I have to admit also though, I got carried away last night and posted two off-topic threads, and evilcam never banned me. He gave me warnings, and I was surprised (because I thought he would instantly ban me, but I think he wanted to give me a second chance.). That evilcam is an awesome mod :)

But yes with these responses I will probably get banned, but I am improving in my spamming, because I like to discuss topics.

I have to say...If these forums weren't so boring though(at times), I would never touch a finger on the New Topic button.

I remember when I used this space to put cool looking links to my chapters back in the day. I don't even know why I'm using it now. Why are you even reading this? You must be interested in me. Still reading?

I am usualy on B.net for about...8-9 hours a day. But since the New Hawtness 2.0 update temporarily shut down Chapters I have been a lot less active. I am a big chapter lover and since they are down...I have to get used to the forums.

Silence, get some sleep! Darned pixies.

On topic: As the others said, except for Trig, the mods have lives, give em' a break. I am sure they have other priorities.
