Um i don`t have xbox so could some1 tell me this: Are the Jackal shields on Halo xbox different than the ones on Halo PC? And if so what are the differences?
On halo.wikia.com/wiki/jackal_personal_arm_shield i have read that they are first normal but they start to go red when you damage them, how does that realy works? And what are the differences between them?

In high definition baby!

Halo PC and Halo on the Xbox have the same Jackal's shield and doesn't glow red when contact with damage. In Halo 2, when you shoot the Jackals' shield, they glow red from plasma fires from taking damage just like an energy shield.

if i remember correctly, in halo 1.....the shields came in two different colors.......orange and yellow. and i don't think they change color when hit......i'm 98% sure.

no big differences......in halo 1, i just consider them the elite version of the jackal........meaning, usually is on the attack more and fires a bit more rapidly.

Don't double post. Be patient, the Library is most likely the slowest-paced forum here at Bungie.net. Why are you in such a hurry to know, anyway?

They are different, as in Gearbox screwed up when making the port to PC. The shields appear to be very different. In Halo PC, they look like this. On the Xbox version, they look like this.

Halo 2 isn't out yet for the PC, so we have yet to know.

The shields obviously look different between the first and second game, which would be a silly question if that's what you were asking.

What about them? They glow, they're shiny, they come in different colors, turn red when weakened...

Last time I checked they came in flavors of blue and orange. Blue shielded jackals had bluish armor, and orange shielded jackals had orangish armor. Don't forget the sniper jackals, which have gray armor.

Not only in colour, but in shape too.

I just mentioned the different types of Jackals that are shown in those pictures. A Jackal with a blue shield is the lowest rank, and then an orange shielded Jackal is higher in rank. The sniper Jackal has a gray uniform, like I said. (I'm not sure of its rank, though.)

In Halo 2, all the jackals have the same uniform mohawk and sharp snout, instead of the curved beak in the original game.

So in halo 2 Jackal Major is this guy with orange shield and muscle armor
And Jackal Minor is this guy with blue( more looks like green on the picture to me) shield and normal armor, isn`t it right?
And tell me something about this red glowing when damaged, please,

Hey, man, slow the hell down. Be patient. You didn't need to send me a PM to respond to this thread.

This seems so trivial--yes, the major Jackal wears orange and the minor Jackal wears blue/green. Turquoise. Cyan. Whatever, blue is freaking blue. I said it before, it's blue. (Don't get me started with different hues.)

The shields glow red when damaged, let's say after taking a few hits from plasma, they change color steadily. Finally, the shields collapse and the Jackal has nothing left to defend himself with and usually scurries away into cover until the shields recharge again.

Well, when Bungie ported Halo from Xbox over to PC, they left alot (and I mean alot) of advanced shaders that Halo xbox has. Examples being the main menu Halo ring, Assault Rifle, and First person flag pole (Xbox is shiny, PC is not, although there is a mod out there that restores that), along with the teleporters, and, Jackals shields. In Xbox, Jackals shields were a dark blue that would flare red when hit with plasma. On PC, its a sickly, mottled blue-green color (like Halo 2s jackal shields) that does NOT flare red when hit with plasma.

the jackal shields are the same in all three games. blue means a minor class jackal and gold (or orange or yellow or w/e) is a major class jackal. when a human projectile hits the shield, it just bounces off with a wave like motion on the shield. when hit with covenant plasma, it makes the shield go red for a second.
