Well i really have not played any video games in like the last 2 months dunno why, got a bit boring tbh.

Then i go to play Halo PC today and when i open it up and go into the game lobby the words at the bottom "Download Halo CE blah blah blah" all that stuff was moving at like a mile a second, i could barely read it . So i join a server just some normal CTF server with a 33 ping, so i get a 33 ping but i red x all over the place and all the other players are moving at the same speed as the text in the game lobby was moving. So i re-started Halo again same problem. Then i restarted Halo and changed all my setting to everything low and off 800x600. Still the same problem everything is warp fast and glitchy.

Then i played Campaign, first on all high setting and then on all low, same deal, everything was moving fast, and it was like i was lagging out of a server but i was in campaign. So then ire-installed Halo downloaded the quick fix patch thing. Still same problem on all settings low and high. Die a virus scan, my computer is clean. Made shore my firewall allowed Halo, it did.

Then i went and played Counter Strike Source and guess what.. it was normal perfect game play. I did not lag out of server i had a constant 18 ping on one server. Ran super smooth it was great.

But i want to play Halo!! >.<
Help me please.

Thats Halo for you. Sometimes it works perfectly fine, while other times it screws you over. Just wait a few hours or join another server. Also try creating your own and see if the lag is still there.

that's been like that for a long time. >.> and I do believe that there is some kind of fix for it...
Strings.dll With New Message of the Day URL!
I do believe that's it, I haven't tested it my self, but I think that's it.

Do you have a dual core processor? Disable one core if so.

If that doesn't work, reinstall Halo to a different directory. It's the only way to fix .map files if you completely -blam!- them up. Replacing/reinstalling don't work with them, so try that.

Did you mod at all?, and even if no I reccomend reinstalling.

Slaying noobs since 2007.

I have heard of something similar to this problem, never happened to me, but it was because somebody didn't mod right. Speaking of that though did you get rid of the cache it uses before you reinstalled?
