i think no refunds should stop posting in the tech threads because 3/4 of the info he gives is incorrect or off

anyway the GPU has to be better, id go with an nvidia since H2V is probably being built around nvidia cards

what are your plans for a power supply or motherboard?

id recomend a 8800gtx/gts, or a 7900 gto

I wasn't necessarily wrong, he met the requirements, so it SHOULD run smoothly. But we all know the minimum requirements for Halo PC make it look like someone raped your computer.

The few, the proud, the leet.

I highly doubt it. The X700 outpreforms the X1300. If you're budget conscious, then look into getting a 6600 from nVidia, or an X1600 from AMD, at least.

im not one for ati video cards , and i do have good reason.

1) the price/ performance on most of there cards are quite lacking.
2) there customer support is rude in most cases.
3) ati might get the frames in a game but they cant keep them like nvidia can.

but i do hope ati gets good because i love amds

for a good nvidia card with a good price/performance ratio dont look past the 7000 series

if you want to run H2v on a higher res than 800X600, all on and consistant 60FPS you better get a 7600 or better if that

Thats what I have. I bet I'll be able to run it on it;s highest res. That card doesn't get effected by resolution, only settings. My games run at equal fps at 640 x 480 as they do 1280 x 1024. A 7600GT will suit you fine.

They dont even sell the 7900gto anymore. But there really isnt anything to get from Nivida now in the catagory the 7900gto is in. You can get an 8800 gts http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168141331 93 for $250 and anything under is dominated by ATI(x1950 pro) which can be had for $150

I deeply resent those statements! Though we sound like we both are on opposite ends of the pole...

I've had many issues with Nvidia products and their support. While not long ago it seemed Nvidia gave a performance boost for the same $ or a just a wee bit more, that is no longer even remotely true. ATI is comprised of excellent value prices while getting near or the same quality as some of the top Nvidia GPUs. In some instances ATI trumps Nvidia "feature wise", usually minor fuctions though.

I've had ONE ATI card give up on me, and ATI replaced it, no questions asked, and I've always had good experiences and no hassles with ATI's Catalyst.
It sounds as though at least one of us must have been particulary un-lucky on more than one occasion.
