cars, girls & cake all day everyday

Guys...don't you think that's a bit...harsh? For abusing one forum now your cut off from one half of the website?

No. It's that person's fault they were blacklisted. If you -blam!- up in one forum, it carries over. It's the Bungie Forums, not just The Flood or only the Septagon. It's a collective.

"I have no words that would do justice to the atrocities you commit to the English language, as well as your continued assaults on the concepts of basic literacy and logical reasoning."

It used to be that you couldn't even read them when you were banned, and a 7 day ban was consider a warning. Recently, we changed it so you simply can't post when you're banned, and added warnings so the mods can be a bit more flexible.

I think that's about as lenient as you're going to get. You're banned from all forums because they all are under the same set of rules. If you can't follow it in one, then you aren't expected to be able to behave elsewhere.

Obviously i agree with Achronos.

I would almost post against this thought OP. Its spring break, kids have too much free time. And as tempting as it is to post some of the PM's i have received from a lack of punishment to banned users... I just cant bring my self to say that bungie is being harsh. I wish M$ or the .net passports would start IP banning serious offenders. But yeah, thats just me.

Yes, it is just you, as IP bans are completely ineffective. Many people (and for 'many' I'm pretty sure you could substitute 'most') have dynamic IPs, that can be changed simply by turning their routers off and on.

It's like... banning cheaters, but all they have to do to get around it is to reset their Xbox. Ridiculous, yes?

Achronos is right. All forums have the same set of rules, even the Flood, so if you get banned in one of the forums, what will make a mod think that you would do any better in the other forums?

more like 2 or 3.....

And in this sense, my oldness is more referring to the fact the I was banned like 4 times in my first 6 months of memberships(not including chapters, which is a lot more), and I haven't been banned since.

You've got to think crazy, of course, because you only get innovation by refining insanity. - Jason Jones

thats kinda funny though kilroy, i give you an a for effort.

But anyway i figure if you get banned you shouldn't have any access to the site. Mostly because you broke a rule and if you can follow rules you dont need to be here. I have never been baned, thankfully. That is nice though that you can read the forums while banned, makes them want to post when they cant. Evil bungie, very evil. Back in the day you were nice, now your evil.

Thats not really true. I have heard people cry on XBL because they received a global network ban, thats linked to their Xbox's serial number. So they had to actually buy a new 360 just to go online. i KNOW bungie could do more, and Microsoft could definitely do more. But yes, there "busy", its like Bungie is working on something... Almost like their sick and tired of parenting a dying board full of people who shouldn't be allowed on the internet period.

IPs are easily changed. So that doesnt work. Basically, the rules apply to all forums. If you break a rule, chances are that the rule you broke is in one or more of the other forums.

EEPROM ban? I wouldn't be surprised with some of the communities I know you're in.

They aren't "normal" bans and so that's probably why you've only heard a few people moan about those types of bans. I think.

Not a clue what a EEPROM ban is...Just remember this guy explaining that his Xbox got bant in a pre game lobby in h2.

"with some of the communities I know you're in."

Whats that mean?

This isn't about banning people in more extreme ways. This thread is about banning them in less extreme ways.

An all-forum ban is appropriate. Spammers don't usually just spam one forum.

I don't know of one forum (that run legit0 that only bans you from one section. Xbox.com is really harsh on that. lucky I post here if they start getting really bad over there. only been banned once here for asking for info on Halo 3. KP doesn't like me much. Brings up another question. KP is a contractor so he works 8 months and has 2 off. Is he coming back soon or is he gone for a long time.

I remember when I used this space to put cool looking links to my chapters back in the day. I don't even know why I'm using it now. Why are you even reading this? You must be interested in me. Still reading?

I'm glad we don't get banned from chapter usage. Blcklist is a punishment, not a lecture that last 5 minutes and it is over.

If your banned, its usually for an offence that pertains to more than just one forum. It doesnt matter where it happens, it happened. Just like it doesnt matter who's store you robbed, you still robbed a store.

Wow. It's horrible, but it's only fair, isn't it? (sorry, but I haven't logged in a few days and I didn't get a chance to see all the replies)

Wow! Now you can't get more plain then that. I feel bungie is right on this issue hands down.
