This is a very interesting topic, Compared to the typical game coming out now days the Halo series is not even close to being too violent. Take Resident Evil, GTA or Ninja Gaiden for example. The graphic violence in these games are beyond anything Halo puts out. I think that Halo gives a good balance of showing that an injury has occured (i.e. red or blue splats) w/o being too graphic (i.e. dismemberment) In the PC version of Halo1 you could even turnoff the blood. Personally, I think that gamers who revel in the gore can almost always be identified by either their age and/or IQ both being of smallish numbers matched by a false hope that maybe if I show how hardcore I am by thinking all this violence and gore is cool then my peers will accept me. But that's just me.

I think Halo 2 and Halo are about right for all ages. I don't find them that gory or too bloody. I am disappointed that Prince of Persia 2 has gone dark. I don't think it is necessary to appeal to gamers.
