ATI no longer makes drivers for the Radeon X200. I checked when I was getting my Radeon X600 driver.

  • 04.10.2007 1:49 PM PDT

get a cheap gfx card, or even a nice 1. if ur on a budget just get some low end ati or nvidia card, im sure it will outperform ur x200.

Sounds like an issue with Drivers. Or the resolution being too high.

Also check to see if AnisoTropic Filtering is on.

It's because you have integrated graphics!

Halo doesn't run very well on the x200, sorry, my parents have that, and I tried Halo on it. You can't even play Xbox quality.

Is Xpress X200 different cause thats what my moms computer has and it runs fine on it, now the problem is why wont it run on mine? If I can get the game to tell me an error occured last time i play it boots me in safe mode which starts fine, yet when I put -safemode in the launch thing it works but it looks like -blam!- and has no sound, while the other way I have sound and it doesnt look half bad now I should have to make it look crappy in the first place. Someone please help me find out why this is happening to me i really want to play this game my xbox just died on me a week ago =\

I can get decent graphics going, but not everything on high which I should be able to do with a ATI Radeon X800 XT 256mb right?

  • 04.13.2007 6:40 PM PDT

Slaying noobs since 2007.

Triple post!!!
And it depends on the demands for the game, if it is like Mario or galaga you can max out, but I wouldn't try Fear Maxed out in every field or anything.

It's the new drivers, search ATI's driver archive and pray you can find something, you will have to do it manually, try getting drivers dated around 2001.

Buy a new graphics card already. The Radeon x1600 is decent, and it's under $100.

Do I really need a new graphics card? Im pretty sure it meets the requirements so it should matter, but i am in the process or getting money to buy a new computer all together.

It's the drivers, new drivers for both ATI and nVidia have screwed over Halo PC unless you have a top of the line card that can use brute force to overcome the grave inefficiencies that Halo PC has with new drivers.

And try googling Drivers of the same name as the one's you need, you should be able to find a driver archive, or if ATI has some sort of numbering system, try googling what looks like an old number.

ATI's Drivers are not strong. Basically, ATI's hardware makes nVidia weep, and nVidia's drivers make ATI curl into a ball and convulse, whichever one manages to gain the strengths of the other while maintaining their own strengths, will reign supreme.

Hasn't happened yet so go nVidia, I will take finesse over brute strength any day. (aka get an old GeForce card and go to nVidia's driver archives and find the oldest driver for that card).
