Yes it can, but it's not a pretty sight for us nVidia users. I upgraded to Vista, but couldn't stand the current nVidia drivers, so I formatted and set it up so I have XP on one partition and Vista on the other. Playing games on Vista with an nVidia card is like attending a lazer disco, only the lazers are stretched graphics :\

Edit: Woops, I clicked on 'Yes' and then 'No' instead of 'Vote' by accident. Why must they be so close to each other, Bungie?

I play it on Vista too.
To DoomyCheese:

Ain't there that Vista fix patch and Nvidia new drivers that you run and then HPC works fine ?

Ain't there that Vista fix patch

There is no actual "patch" for Vista. There was a problem that Vista threw a pop up saying that Halo was not compatible when in fact it was - however a download was developed that simply removed the message.

Although there does seem to be a problem at the moment with Nividia drivers and Vista.

What it is.

Yes there is a patch, but it looks like Bungie took it off their site when they switched to the new version. I run the game fine without the patch and it works. I know before without the patch it would say invalid directx, but now it doesnt say that.

Get Marathon Here
Get Marathon 2 and Infinity Here

So compat mode isn't required? I don't have Vista yet which is why I am asking.

ok cool thanks but is there any other pc games that work on vista like san andres, halo custem edition etc

From my experiance, Halo is playable, however I'm going to wait a while to causse the sound is horrible for me, due to some stuff which I think relates to Vista and my soundcard (I think MS removed something on Vista which prevents sound to be wroking properly on certain applications, mostly older games like Halo and Homeworld, but the likes of Quake 4 and Half Life 2 are ok).

as for graphics, I've been ok on that side even though I have a 512 nVIDEA Geforce 7300gs (with another 256mb shared with it aswell)

as soon as sound is sorted I'll be happily Haloing properly for the first time in my life.

What it is.

FEAR works, CoD2 works, Prey works(if you have it in compat mode), Battlefield(s) work(BF2, 1942, Vietnam and i am sure 2142), Rainbow Six Vegas, C&C3, All of my steam games(HL2/DM/LC, CSS). Most games i have if not all work fine on Vista, and i'm running the 64-bit version, so i am sure if they are 32-bit programs they work a little better on 32-bit version of Vista, but i can't back that up.
