I have heard that the campaign and UI editability will be unaccessable, and this would put a bind on my already half complete custom campaign I have been creating for the game. I have 14 maps planned out, and 3 already made for this campaign. I have finished the main character's model already and the storyline script is partially complete as well. My question is about if the campaign editing code will still be there or is it going to be completely removed? The inability to edit a game to it's fullest for many people to play means that it will not be as popular as one where one can edit to the fullest. ournament 2004 is still played much just because people still can make custom cutscenes and ext. Halo custom edition will be slightly more popular than H2Vista just because of the fact that more can be edited. People like to do things, and the more people can do, the more willing they will be to buy it.

A simple yes or no would be enough.

Apperently we won't be able to edit the campain, but I'm not going to abandon H2V just because Bungie dosen't want people messing with they're brainchild. H2 is already a good game, and there will be tonnes of awsome custom maps thanks to the editing tools we are geting. It would be grate if we had a campain editor, but H2V will still be grate without it.

You may not be able to mod the Campaign, but HG hasn't said anything about the possibility of creating new ones. At least, nothing I've seen so far. Don't judge the game before it's out.

And a yes or no answer would have sufficed. As such I'm not voting in that wasteful poll.

Slaying noobs since 2007.

You can mod anything given time, back a while ago lots of people thought modding Halo 2 on xbox wasn't possible, point in case, when someone says something is not hackable hackers like to see that as a challenge to human ingenuity. ;-)

Theres a difference between what you can do on the xbox and what the HEK will do. If they take out the sp support instead of locking it down, there is very little that can be done. What can be done will be likely too hard to be useful.

You are absolutly right, but there are other tools than HEK, man I remember when we had to use hex to mod, which is still useable all the time, and you can create gui's that simplify the process, but the xbox was a metaphor not a literal translation for our dearly beloved vista game.

Damn you said what I wanted to.

Get Marathon Here
Get Marathon 2 and Infinity Here

I believe the answer to the poll is no, who would want to mod maps when they have "limited" tools?

To me it looks like the H2EK will be just fine in terms of how free you are to do things, so you should wait till the game is out, I never thought "what if" polls were very useful, especially when the answer is obvious.

Now this is moreso what I was wondering about... people have spoken about the campaign creation coding being either locked or completely deleted from the kit, and I was in need of info about this, so if it was, we can see how many modders would perfer the game if they can't use the engine to it's fullest extent.

and so far more of the votes are those with grudges against me lol

CMT Mod team leader

I hate you from another forum. The editing kit is fine, who cares if it has no SP support, that doesn't mean we can't do sp.

I doubt you can mod very much because after all, it is Live.

A different kind of Live. Modding =/= cheating in the PC community.

Agreed. Modding on the PC is a great thing to do as long you dont abuse the power.
