Well Enough Alone...

~"The people who play Bungie games tend to sense that there's something behind the games that's attractive to them. Then they become fans of the games. And then they become rabid fans. And then they become employees of Bungie."(Life story) -Marty

Does anyone still even look at sigs anymore? I never do but I can't help wonder what sigs I'm missing. I'm just to lazy to go searching through everyones sigs when 1/2 of them don't even have sigs anymore and the other 1/2 suck. One in ever 100 sigs is worth reading and we are missing them. I don't think anyone looks at digs anymore.

Anyone but Foman. He smells like cheese.

I tend to scroll over sigs in two situations:

1) When someone makes a post about sigs; and
2) When I am (a) impressed; or (b) appalled by a post.

I believe that 2(a) is the true purpose of the change in signature placement, as well as to cut down on the ugliness of the forums in light of some people's signatures. So I'm not too worried about missing signatures -- I still see the ones that matter, in my opinion.

I look at sigs almost everytime I read someone's post. Unless I know the person, such as people like Foman and Natedogr, I check signatures quite frequently. It's very simple to scroll down the page with your cursor over where the avatars are, and if I find something interesting in someone's post, I'll look a little further.

I don't look at sigs anymore, I used to look at them all the time. I loved finding the funny ones. Now it just seems like more work than necessary.

Lazy FTW!

Sigs are a waste of time now. Might as well be taken away. The last one I checked was... a couple days ago?

  • 04.12.2007 7:27 PM PDT

You say tomato; I say potato.

Since the update, I have not purposefully checked any sigs. I don't even look at the post authors name unless their post stands out.

I never look at sigs unless I accidentally have my cursors on the left side while scrolling down the page. I guess it's kind of nice having them out of the way though...

I look at them very often. whenever someone's avatar, name, or mostly post, catches my eye. and i take my time normally. i just get mad to find empty ones. i think that even though the limit was shortened, it's enough room. you don't need seperate lines just so yours can be the longest sig in the universe!

but aside from that, they were never too big of a problem. It'd be nice to have a less limited space in the profile like a description of yourself, though. i had a profile of myself stored as one of my group's articles. but, since groups are gone, the link took you nowhere. so i changed it, of course.

but i definitely think it's an improvement.

I like the way Bungie made people's signatures now. It doesn't get in the way of stuff. It's awesome.

Personally I like CB's sig...haha. Anyway, yeah I still look at them. But usually only from the people that I enjoy their posts...but sometimes I will look at the annoying ones too, just to get a feel for who they are.

I never liked sigs much anyway. The only reason i've got one now is to trick unsuspecting victims into my trap.
In conculsion: Sigs are lame, always have been, always will be, i am happy they are hidden behind avatars.

Sigs are just there for advertisement and for customizing profiles. I use them but I don't get obsessed with them and scroll over them. The only time I see a sig is when I accidentally scroll over it or when i want to see some more posts of the user I'm scrolling over.

Live life the way you want to...

Well personally I always participated in rpgs and fanfics ans stuff like that before the new hawtness. So with the sigs where they are, when the groups come back, it will be much easier for everyone to read through fanfics and rpgs, so thank you bungie for doing that for me.

I like the new place. A lot of people have annoying or ugly sigs, or even ones that are outwardly hostile (H1>H2, for example). I'm glad they're gone, although it does make group advertisement more difficult.

I think my Avatar picture is getting more and more popular....dang. I used to be all alone in the world of tanks, and now not one but TWO tank Avatars are avaible, and more and more people are using them...sad.
Haha back on topic. I miss sigs I really do, but it is easier to read posts without them being in the way.

I don't really notice it much anymore. If a post catches my eye, I'll look at the signature of that member. Other than the fact that advertising for groups will be more difficult, I like where they are now.

I remember when I used this space to put cool looking links to my chapters back in the day. I don't even know why I'm using it now. Why are you even reading this? You must be interested in me. Still reading?

I seldom look at the sigs anymore. It is really going to decrease in recruiting for Chapters if no one looks at them. Our Bungei.net cards should be given a few more features. I don't know what is is just...bland.

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. And it is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves the flag, whose coffin is draped in the flag that allows the protester to burn the flag.Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, USMC

I wish sigs would come back to the public eye. I always had nice messages for people to read.
