Subject: Halo 1 campaign gives a much different feeling than playing Halo 2 ...

YES! finally people agree with me. i prefer the halo campaign a little more because everything is a suprise (eg: the flood, the plot to the game, etc) also the levels can be more challenging, like the library. Halo 2 levels get tiedious after a while. I only completed it to say I completed it.

"Do you think it's because we're awesome? I think it's because we're awesome."

"Man, you're camping my only spawn point? Who made this "Infection" gametype? I'm like a fricken ant someone threw into a spider farm! Except one of the spiders has a tank!"

it was good to have halo 2, because (1, awesome graphics + new kickass armor; and (2, it turned as many people as it could from going "DIE YOU STUPID COVVIE @$$HOLE!!!!"

I guess Halo 2's big shocker was supposed to be the Covenant Civil War... Also the fact that Earth has some big secret, too.

The story was a good idea on paper probably, but a paper isn't a video game! The game had all that rock music and the brutes were just bullet spunges... Levels were kinda uninspiring too.

Cake>Pie!
Hey you saw my sig! :)
Their was a time when this was under a post. Simpler times; no Halo 3 Forum and no search. Simpler times. Happy about search though.

I say Halo 1=Story
Halo2=Fun

I say that because H1 campaign felt like a carousal so much recycling.
Halo 2 has little story but is quite fun.

well Halo 1 has an "ending" and Halo 2 had just a cut in the cinematic.

Also, there was a real satisfaction after beating Halo. It just felt like you had saved the world. In Halo 2, you beat this boss, and then there was a cinematic to explain what had happened. I guess one of the main differences is that you understood what your mission was in the original, how what you were doing was going to affect the story. In Halo 2, it was simply follow the navpoint and await further instruction. There was no sense of this epic adventure in the second game. Still, I think Halo 3 is going to be more polished, and have a better pace. I can't wait.

1.Arkham Asylum, 2.Mass Effect, 3.Halo CE, 4.Mass Effect 2, 5.Halo 2, 6.Splinter Cell Double Agent, 7.Gears of War 2, 8.Medievil, 9.Oblivion, 10.Crash Team Racing

Halo1 is all about different, active levels. From basic spaceship start to forest to enemyarea to beach and snow ( I hugely enjoyed everything and didnt rush these levels but then i wanted to see what happens next and rushed a bit too much), the darkness increases with Flood and returns to enemy and own ships are great, overall i like every level and they are needed.

Halo2 is all about preparing the ending. Enemies attack on earth and we go through ship and city ( I love everything before this but heretic levels are dissapointing althought i like Arbiter, he is much more a charachter than Chief ) we see arbiter introduced but heretics were little boring but Flood and Oracle were introduced, and also forerunner structure got wiped out. Chief is on great another Halo and kills a leader. Arbiter recovers index and releases Flood. Chief goes through High Charity seeing how world gets smaller around him, Marines dead, Covenant scattered, prophet dead and Flood spreading (My favorite part is Chiefs and Mercys moment, after that there is no return). Arbiter allies with Humans and everything is left for Halo3, Earth is only thing thats barely left. I mostly love Halo2 even more than but few levels cant keep up with the rest.

In Halo1 everylevel gives something new( Althought Library is usually annoying its still great to have mindless Flood shooting level)
In Halo2 some levels give new, few dont. Halo2 seems to be chaotic in a wrong way, i just wonder how good it would have been if Xbox wouldnt have retrictions to take out weapons, enemies, and all other things.

This is a RETICULE, and that is a RETICLE. I'm using the latter to aim. And what are you using?

The H1 campaign always gave me the feeling (and still does - playing it the 10 time or so) that I'm actually achieving something that's important in context of the Halo universe. I'm protecting Cortana from being captured by the Covenant and thus the location of Earth, which is vital for mankind's survival, while I'm stranded on a gigantic alien artificial structure in deep space. The first part of the H1 campaign gives you the feeling of being on the run; you're all alone except for Cortana, searching for other survivors while being hunted by Covenant forces. And then you finally rescue some of your comrades, forming up to finally fight back and find out what the heck is going on. That's simple awesome.

Furthermore, all you know prior to playing H1 is that mankind is at war with the Covenant, and everything else unravels during play: Halo serves as a containment structure for the Flood which the Covenant release, not knowing what it is. You are almost tricked into destroying everything you fought for by Guilty Spark 343, and all of a sudden you find yourself in a three-front war against the Covenant, the Flood, and Guilty Spark's small army of drones.

H2 feels just like a slightly altered and bad remake of the first campaign, although the best parts are missing. Instead of the feel of urgency you are taken by your hand and told "kill the Covenant over there and now go kill the Covenant on the other side of the base/street/building" and so on. Everything that happened in H1 repeats itself in H2 and somehow manages to feel boring.

I really hope that H3's campaign will be better than H2's, and I'm actually pretty optimistic about it -- it can hardly be worse.
