fellow canadian I only do this cause I care

Are you -blam!- nuts, a nvidia 6100 -blam!- that barely runs vista and its 128mb. NEVER EVER buy a computer its a complete rip off. ALWAYS MAKE YOUR COMPUTER, you will get it cheap and a powerhouse of a computer. also do not but a computer until ati's r600 comes out, its the new dx10 card and it will drive all the graphic card prices down. although i think you should just wait until june or late may to get r600 its a sick card and should be released in 10 days so patience.

here is a good site for you to custom build a computer.

http://www.tigerdirect.ca/indexca.asp?

now i'm assuming you wana upgrade for H2V here is what you need if you wana have a really good experience
-2GB of ddr2 ram
-nvidia 7900 or ati 19000(recommend r600 but were not made of money)
-dual core AM2 amd(recent price drop and quad core coming soon remeber good things comes to those that wait)
-PCI-E motherboard thats AM2 compatible
-450-600 watt power supply
-160Gb SATA harddrive
-19inch lcd monitor with 700:1 contrast ratio
and the rest you can pick but this will cost about 1500-2000 but you will have a sick computer, also if you have another computer i recomend you gut the hardrive, fans, cables, dvd player and put it into your new computer to save money.

What he said, kinda!!

seriously people, use the search feature! I've seen at least two people ask about the very same computer in the past two weeks!

Yeah, the PC you're talking about now is pretty decent. However, if you can wait and can afford it, a DirectX 10 card really is the way to go as not only is Vista designed for it, you'll be future proofed for a while as new games are obviously going to take advantage of it and look much better than DirectX 9 games.
But, it's not like you're going to be completely out of date if you don't (and you can always upgrade the GPU later to a DirectX 10 one), and I highly doubt a game will ship anytime in the next year or so that doesn't support DirectX 9.

ok thanx guys but just one last question, when a cpu is duel core say 2.8ghz does that mean each core is 2.8ghz or 1.4ghz each core?

Here you will need this to help you get your foot out of the back of your throat, looks llike its in there pretty deep. And what is that on your face? Egg?! *hands Kim a washcloth*

it's 2.8 GHz each, the frequencies for multi cores are never combined.

holy -blam!- that means a 3 ghz dual core processor is like 6 ghz, they should have put that in the advertisment it makes look so much more better.

ignoring something right above you is pretty funny.
ignoring something that you quoted...man...

aka lino4

Most of the PC issues posted here are the result of PEBKAC.

Having a dual core is more like having two separate cpu's.

Yeah, assume the Gfx card is PCI-E, because very few cards come in AGP and very few boards come out with AGP. It would be silly to have a motherboard that supports dual core processors and has an AGP slot.

Indeed. The frequencies don't really matter if the architecture sucks. Actually, I have no idea what I'm talking about.

ok from what ive looked up and learned so far each core is 2.8ghx but the total clock speed is not 5.6ghz but rather the second cpu is used for multitasking and to ease the workload off of each other

wtf, he said its 2.8 ghz for each core so in essence its 5.6ghz and that would make a great advertisment.

making fun of someone funny
making fun of someone and being wrong cause you cant read probably is sad.
Yeah, he said it's 2.8 GHz for each core, but he said you weren't supposed to add them up together, too, dumbass.

Making a mistake, forgivable.
Making a mistake and then blaming it on someone else and making yourself look like a total jackass... man...
