ok just a quick explenation of cpu freequencies. u said you have never herd a cpu speed measured in frequency but indeen Mhz and Ghz along with Hz and Khz are all freequencys or the number of cycles per second example 1 hz =1 cycle per second, a 2.8 ghz cpu chip would have 2.8 billion sycles per second, and ya ill get that card

Is this where we do specs questions? :)

Laptop specs. Don;t have vista on my home pc yet (can't afford ultimate 64 right now. My new laptop (HP Pavillion 9000t) has an HDMI out to connect to my 57 inch, so I might just go with this.

Time of this report: 4/17/2007, 10:19:47
Operating System: Windows Vista™ Ultimate (6.0, Build 6000) (6000.vista_rtm.061101-2205)
Language: English (Regional Setting: English)
System Manufacturer: Hewlett-Packard
System Model: HP Pavilion dv9000 (RF312AV#ABA)
BIOS: Ver 1.00PARTTBLv
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU T7200 @ 2.00GHz (2 CPUs), ~2.0GHz
Memory: 2046MB RAM
Page File: 1498MB used, 2810MB available
Windows Dir: C:\Windows
DirectX Version: DirectX 10
DX Setup Parameters: Not found
DxDiag Version: 6.00.6000.16386 64bit Unicode

Vid card is NVIDIA GeForce Go 7600 with 512. (shared mem shows 776??)

I'm not sure what the HDMI will output as, but even 480p would be better than on either my 17 inch laptop screen, or my 21 inch pc monitor.

first of all the line he said made it vague and the frequency could mean something else in the cpu, i have never really heard a cpu spead refered to as frequency before, so it could be talking about something else. even you said you didn't know what you were talking about so dont act all smart and call me stupid. and i was merly replying to a rather unjust remark and for some reason you feel you can call other people dumb when you said you dont know what your talking about
[Five year old]Okay, but you started it. :P[/Five year old]

Perhaps "blaming" wasn't the word I was looking for. I meant, "Making a mistake and then thinking someone else made one..."

I don't know much, maybe just above the average computer geek, but I know enough that frequencies = CPU speeds.

Ha ha got the same CPU as that one. The graphics card rocks i can run all my games on High and have no processing problems ether. This CPU is they way to go i think but make sure to Customize things on it like i added a extra Hard drive to double my space from 250G to 500G.

Edit:

Dint see the part were you said Laptop. i got the Desktop version way better. As an example its got 3 extra slots for Hard drives and a slot for an external drive then it has an optional 2-3 slots for extra pressers and graphics cards.

Model know: m7680n

I'm sure the desktop is better...but I also have an amd x2 3800 with an ATI x1900 desktop. I just don't have vista on it. I bought this laptop with tax money, and so far, it rocks. Oblivion, Civ4, NWN2...all run great. Haven't tested something really heavy like Half life 2 though. I should try that.

Anyway, eventually, I'll get vista 64 on the desktop, however, the lappy has an hdmi out as i said. Therefore, I can still play on my big screen. Heck, if they'd put the achievments on the 360, I'd just get it again for that. Story is lame, but the acheivments always push me to complete a story.

Cool. And ya Half life 2 rocks on these comps but you need to get the extra Slots for the Extra Processors and graphics cards.

first of all, whats the rush to get vista, its full of bugs. Second, that computer is great, just make sure u keep it cool if u make a custom. Third, good going pentium, but wait till the 27th for the price drops on the core 2 duos, thats what im doing. Make sure its an LGA775 mobo thats compatable with quad cores if ur intending to keep it for a long time. And the whole dual core theory that u guys have, is wrong. Operating frequency doesnt mean crap if it is poorly manufactured. Go for a 65nm manufacturing process or around there. Look at cache and other aspects of the processor, operating frequency isnt everything, look for a FSB speed. but otherwise ur good, jsut keep it cool and wait for vista to b fixed up a bit b4 spending that much money ona crappy os
