Subject: Disembodied Soul? (I am kind of confused)

I remember when I used this space to put cool looking links to my chapters back in the day. I don't even know why I'm using it now. Why are you even reading this? You must be interested in me. Still reading?

As most of you might know, Disembodied Soul is Proxy Server, basically a filter helping keep the B.net community under control. What exactly is he. He has posted before, a long while back, so he must be a member or ex-member. (That post can be seen here and here.)

The Soul post very short, to the point posts. He most well known, "That does not mean what you think it means."

Out of his 4 posts in the B.net forums he has said that 3 times.

Also, I was looking around the "Hawt New" B.net in the community home section here and I noticed on the right side under "Community Updates" a drop down listed as "Emotional Support Recent Updates" which of course has no updates listed under it. Should we look forward to Emotional Support Updates? Or what?

The Soul indeed has stirred up a lot of attention since 2002 and his slow crawl torwards his goal. "Who is he?" "What is he?" So many questions, and just one answer.

The soul is an automated program that will auto-ban a person that is trying to bypass a ban with another account. The profile can be logged onto at anytime, as far as I know, by any bungie.net employee. That is all I know about the soul, and to be quite honest, I don't really care to know any more than that.

I have read over that and everything. I have benn Blcklisted by him twice, but it is how fast he does it. He can't be a real person and I doubt the B.net team shoved him into a web server (ouch). He has a B.net profile but I thought he was a server but you can't message him, when he posts (the few times) that means a server is posting basically, it is all confusing.

-Recoil

I am guessing he is a rule-based perl script?

What makes the soul so quick is that the soul is a computer program, nothing more, nothing less.

So how does he post and have a profile here on B.net?

In a sense, yes. However, as far as I know, the soul that posts, is an actual person that logs onto the profile. No telling who, but yes, someone can log onto him. But then again, I am speaking of ancient bungie lore.

The last time he logged on (according to his profile) was in April of '06, more than a year ago.

yoo•zel- ('yoo-zhul): slang: vb.

Officium quod Fidelitas.

I'm pretty sure the Soul would refer to you all as meatbags for calling him a proxy server...

HOW DARE YOU.

Read about the Forgotten Spartan I Program
Butane: To protect the world from devastation!
sir_brilliant: To unite all people within our nation!
Rainman89: To denounce the evils of truth and love!
sir_brilliant: To extend out reach to the stars above!
SpaceGhostFlyer: Jessie!
Butane: James!
sir_brilliant: Team Rocket blasting off at the speed of light
Butane: Surrender now or prepare to fight
sir_brilliant: Meowth, that's right!

My understanding is that, like skiptrace and the banhammer, the soul is both a program/function and a user. The full control users and Bungie employees probably log on and make those posts.

Old school Bungie, born and raised,
In the Septagon is where I spend most of my days.
Relaxin', maxin', posting all cool,
Talking about Halo, life and some school.
Got in one little argument, and the mods got scared,
they said "You're gonna get banned and your member title'll be bare!"

I learned some things about DS once, though I can't remember what or from whom. Something about the account serving as...something...

You people have just sent my sides into orbit. A bunch of MLG try hards sucking the dick of some supposed pro half the thread hasn't even heard of. Classic.

I tried to feed the Soul once. He bit my hand. Jerk.

2:10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
2:11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
2:12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

The soul is imaginary. Just another disappointment; like Santa Claus or the Easter Bunny.

Me too. In fact, I plan on it.

Since no one has given you the stock answer yet, I'll do it.

What isn't the Soul?

He embodies everything that's awesome. He has no real limits, and no real boundaries. He is beyond comprehension.

Oh, and Skiptrace is more than real. He's...Skiptrace.

Is that his name or title/job? Some of the good skiptraces are terrifyingly efficient at finding people...

How would one go about beating something that has no physical manifestation?

They are both spiritual manifestations, but one found a dwelling body, like the exorcist.

You shouldn't say that, man. You'll just make EB angry, and you wouldn't like him when he's angry.
