I think this is ridiculouse. The fact that this many people, including myself, are no longer going to be able to play Halo 2 due to 2 new maps. For those of you who now have the maps after a -blam!- load of trouble, congrats, but to the rest of you that arte in my position and cant get any help from anyone, I feel your pain.I guess now is the time to move on to a different game, if Bungie wants to -blam!- on supporters than so be it, we can turn our back just as quick as they can.

I can't download the new maps to my Xbox 360 for some reason. I followed all the directions you posted. I added a new credit card, well debit card, and am absolutely positive that there is money on the account. I also deleted a bunch of shtuff off of my hard drive to make some "just in case" room. Nomatter what I do it says again and again "Instillation of content failed. See xbox.com for more support information." Xbox.com is a worm hole of information with no real direction to any specific topic that I can understand. I don't think that it is a problem with my xbox, but am open to the possibility. I was wondering if you have received any emails resembling my issues or if they are exclusive to me.

~Peace~

SNOOTCH TO THE NOOTCH!

There is no fuxing way LIVE is under maintenance. Why would they do a server maintenance the same day as a Halo 2 DLC? That makes zero sense. Plus, when M$ did that last big LIVE update they added more/newer/better servers. So how does a little map pack break the servers when none of the old ones broke the old servers? This sh1te is bjorked.

I get to the downloader in Halo 2, but when I try to download the maps I get an error message that premium downloads are not enabled. I have no child accounts on the box, and I've bought stuff through the dashboard recently. It's a 360. Any Ideas?

I had no problems, but my mate got the same error. He spoke to Microsoft, and they said (eventually) that it was because he had migrated his account from his xbrick to his 360, instead of starting a new one, and had had account control turned on before. However, the 360 has no ability to turn this off, because it has it's own system to control access for kids apparently, and he can't turn it off now. It is something that they can fix, so they are working on a fix for it, it'll just take a little time to get working is all.

I just had to say that for that guy at the start who is having that problem. And i must say I respect him for not having a sad. You notice how he was nice and calm, asked for ideas? The tone of the posts in this topic went downhill from there very quickly.

Bottom line :

Just be patient people, there's no use whingeing like a kid who wants his mother-blam!- chocolate milk when Bungie gave themselves two whole weeks to fix any issues before changing the playlists. Just wait and get them when the fixes are done. If you're that desperate, go play them on Halo:CE.

Grow the -blam!- up.

SNOOTCH TO THE NOOTCH!

Its funny when people whine about other people whining.

  • 04.19.2007 9:37 AM PDT

Actually I find whining about things you can't change annoying. There's nothing wrong with helping the web be a happier friendlier place though.

Yeah, they jacked me for my four dollars and didn't give me my maps! I was so excited to play these maps because I am an original Halo Hang'em High Lover. I hope they fix this soon. I guess I have to keep on trying! LOL

Yeah, I'm only pissed 'cuz I already paid for the maps. If they just didn't work & I had to wait I wouldn't care. I'm still waiting for the Ultimate Alliance DLC but I didn't pay for that.

Just got off the line with XBox Live support (here in the US this time). They said to try back in 2 hours. They're putting in another patch to the downloader. The orig. XBox is telling me it can't purchase.

I had the "Premium Purchase" error on mine too. This morning I created a new tag on the 360, assigned a credit card. I successfully recovered the new tag to the original XBox, but haven't been able to complete the purchase yet, but it looks promising, what with the "purchase" buttons and status bar and whatnot.

Hey Grindstone they told me to try back in 24 hours UK support but mine says ive purchased it and the progress bar is complete but just comes up with error please see www.xbox.com for more support. really hope its resolved soon. did they say anythin else about the patch?

  • 04.19.2007 10:27 AM PDT

The phone support guy had said they were told about 45 minutes ago that a patch was going active in 2 1/2 hours. That'd be about noon PDT (I'm guessing that's 9 p.m. GMT). My error said specifically I wasn't being charged, so I don't know what they're going to do about duplicate charges. I didn't ask him about that.

Yeap... I know I purchased it because xbox sent me an email that it was charged from my credit card, but "no dice" for me downloading my precious maps.

  • 04.19.2007 10:38 AM PDT

Hopefully the downloader at least put a placeholder on your hard drive, otherwise they may charge you again. Bummer :[

Hey everyone just spoken to xbox live support again and they told me apparently is something to do with the content and 360's not connecting properly and said there is nothing you can do except wait...apparently. They say if it isn't resolved in two days then ring back just thought u'd all like to know. Im not moanin here cause i dont pretend to understand how complicated these things are....but i think it is fudgin rediculous that the supposed best console/ computer company in the world cant even resolve this issue straight away or even prevent things like that happening in the first place. no offence bungie cause its not u guys i know...u RULE! lol Its just fudgin annoyin. dude they told u it was a connection problem and ur satisfied... it could be as simple as the host of where u download the maps from are using a port that a lot of routers have blocked.

so let me get this rite...we have to PAY for the new maps, and if we dont we basiclly dont get to play it online ( apart from the crap training games) is this correct? well i think thats stupid ( not the payin part cos ill somehow try to persuade ma mum to put her credit card in! CHOR! well if this marketplace thing is messin up does this mean that were gonna have to pay again if the maps dont come? even tho weve already payed?

EDIT: has the market place thing resolved? becouse some people have been sayin its routers blokin the host? i aint usin a router so will mine work? had anybodys worked yet? cos i dont wont to pay then have to pay again!
