Ok, here's my dilema. I have an original Xbox, but I don't have live (and my parents won't let get it), and the problem is that I want to get the maps and the auto-update that increases melee damage and gernades. I have tried looking online for the Halo 2 Map Pack, and have gone into every game store that you can imagine, but no-one has it. I talked to the guy at gamestop and he says that Bungie stopped making it, and that it is pretty hard to come across now. Is that true?

If it is, I'll need someone's help. If you would be willing to mail it to me, I'll download it to my xbox, and then ship it back to you, along with some money to payback what you paid to ship it to me. I'm not trying to scam anyone or anything, and I hope that nobody thinks that. So if you would like to help me out, I'll PM you with my address etc. Thanks a lot.

Fellow gamer,
Brian

I would, however, I do not have the map pack disk. The only thing I can think of that you can do is to go on ebay and look for it. And honestly, I don't even think the new maps are even on the disk, if that is why you want it, which sounds like the case. So you will only get the first few, not the latest two. Best of luck to you.

You don't need us, pal.... all you need is eBay. I already queued up the search for you and everything.

Oh, no I don't want it for the two new maps (if you're talking about the two new Halo 1 remakes). I believe those were just released right, so I don't expect them to be out on disc yet, and I think I read that they will only be availible through live. No, I want the disc (I think it was called the Halo 2 Map Pack or something, correct me if I'm wrong) that has the old new maps (if that makes sense lol) like Warlock, Terminal, Relic, Containment, Turf, BackWash, etc, and I believe it also had the update that increased the melee damage of Halo 2 characters and increased gernade damage. Hope that clears it up, and thanks for the offer anyway (if you had it).

Thanks again,
Brian

Ah yes, now I understand. As far as I know all you can really do is go on ebay if no stores near you had it. And as I said, if I had it, I would be happy to help a fellow gamer out and send it to you.

Yes I did click the link, but here's the thing. One of the main reasons for me not having live is that my parents are very -blam!- and suspicious in a way of putting thier credit card information online, despite what I tell them about it being very safe. I've asked them about eBay, but it's just the same response. Heck, they would get me Live before they put info on eBay, so I guess that's out of the option (which was a main way of getting it), hence why I have come here.

Thanks for the try anyway.

The Multiplayer Map Pack released on disc contains only the maps and the first Halo 2 update. That means you'll be on Halo 2 v.1.1, the last update made it Halo 2 v.1.5. And I don't think that the new maps or the update will be released on a disc.

Isn't the auto-update they're talking about the one with the increased melee damage and the better gernades (more powerful/ shorter fuse on stickies)?

I believe you can get LIVE anyway without a credit card. You just have to buy a prepaid card and use that instead. If you could convince your parents to let you do that, then you won't need the Halo 2 map pack disk.

Is that for the original xbox too, or just the 360? And don't they want to you to have a credit card in so that you can buy stuff, and they can renew your subscription?

My bad, I think it's for 360 only. The xbox probably does require a credit card. But for the 360 I don't think you need a credit card so long as you buy prepaid points and subscription cards.

yes, ur right. well, for hte original XBOX, u need a credit card account so that they can be sure you can pay after whatever you're using is done. i don't know for 360, but i doubt it's any easier. c'mon, man, fight for the GOLD!!! you can do it!!! i'll back you up, miles away from wherever you're arguing with ur parents!

it worked for me. just took a while. but i got it before summer ended, so it was good enough. it's not the same without Live... no way the same. you can't say u have Halo skills if u don't play Live. three people is much different from 15. especially on maps with up to TEN vehicles. Containment, specifically. it's just not the same. keep trying. u'll thank me, one day. one day.

Well right now I'm playing on XBC (which is like a free version of Live for those of you that don't know), and thats why I need the maps + auto-update. I play a lot of mlg, and there's just so much Lockout, middy, and bc people can play before they get bored and I have to leave, so it would really make my day if someone could send it to me for the day lol.

Brian

PS: Thanks for the support lol.

Hmm, that kinda sucks. You know, the new maps get boring too. before the first month ends, you won't remember how it was without them. and you feel you've gained nothing. kinda like everything else works. i doubt you'll be able to find a copy without eBay or something similar. but you could check online to see if any STORES have them, like GameStop. that's what i'd do.

You people have just sent my sides into orbit. A bunch of MLG try hards sucking the dick of some supposed pro half the thread hasn't even heard of. Classic.

Ebay, or a store like EB will be your best bet. Asking people on a forum to send it to you is probably not going to help you that much at all. Quite frankly there are some nice people around here, but even the nice ones I think would still hang onto their disks.
