Subject: We Need Some Borders

I think I can speak for all of the community when I say we need some borders around... well, everything. Just little lines on the outsides of the forum titles, the forum threads, et cetera just to make it tidier.

However, one major place that needs borders is polls inside thread messages. We desperately need a border around the poll, or a poll box, because I constantly find myself clicking "reply" impulsively, rather than "vote", and it takes me extra time to get it done.

Borders? No thank you. No offense but I don't really like that idea.

So, you like having every single frame just thrown together, with no sense of start or stop? You're awfully optimistic.

I'm optimistic too.

Each time Bungie changes something I tell myself that people won't complain.

Each time I get disappointed, but hey; I'm a dreamer.

I agree. I like it without borders, no offense Matt, but I personally see it as being crowded with borders.

Borders aren't a fix-all for readability. If everything had borders, it would look just as awful as if nothing had borders. That's just graphic design 101... I think the balance is good here.

Can we at least have link-boxes around 'Quote', 'Reply' and such? It's annoying having to click on text when your resolution is 1280x1024.
Tiny text is tiny.

2:10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
2:11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
2:12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

I like borders.. >_>

I logged into Bungie.net and all I got was this lame member rank.

A little bit of division within posts would be nice, but it's not too big of a problem. It'd be easier to differentiate everything, but not so much that it's a real issue.

i would like pink frilly borders.

But i disagree. They are not really needed as long as you can read and see everything seperately.

The solution to your problem is to increase the minimum font size in your browser's preferences. If you're really having that much trouble clicking the buttons you're talking about, wouldn't you be having the same amount of trouble clicking on every single hyperlinked text element on every page you view?

I don't actually click that many links. I really only have a problem on B.net. Take Wikipedia for example. I put in the text I search for, click maybe 1 or 2 links, and I'm done. On B.net, I click maybe 20-30 times, mostly "reply", "quote", "preview", "submit" and occasionally "edit". I also click thread titles (of course), but they tend be longer, and, therefore, easier to hit.

It took me a while to realise that you didn't mean physical borders, like between countries, and that you were talking about something very insignificant.
In conclusion:
Yes for physical borders, to stop others invading B.net
No to borders around text and buttons and stuff.

So basically you're saying that the majority of your internet use is here at B.net. That doesn't change the fact that, if text links are too hard for you to click (Due to font size), then the solution is not a change in design of the site: You just need to tweak your browser prefs.

Then I realized I love this layout and I have no idea why I was complaining. :D
It took awhile to sink in.

I find that this website has been engineered with the skill of a team of artists. I don't really see any problem with it, borders or not. Either way I don't think borders would matter or effect the true purpose of Bungie.net: 1) Gain World Domination, 2) Illegalize Lumpy Pudding.

The entire website could be one giant black terminal with lime green text as far as I could care (maybe New Hawtness v?). The important thing to remember about Bungie.net is that it is for the sole intent of discussion. I don't think that a few borders could improve or degregate the social values or benefits of the community.

I waited for days for someone to reply to my post, only to be met with that disappointment.
Thanks for nothing.

I'm not complaining for the sake of it, I'm complaining because it's on topic for the thread.

lime green text... terminal layout... *shudder*

that was the worst group layout... EVUR! no way am i hoping to see it back. i hope it died with Ye Olde B.net.

anyway, no, i like this site the way it is. perfect. what would borders do? sure, it's more noticeable, but no larger font. plus, you know you can change the font, in 'Internet Options', in the Control Panel, right? near the button, no matter what browser you use, there's a 'Font' button of one of the four buttons. click that. u can't change the font size, just the font, though. oh well. that's what Ctrl + is for!
