I just watched the Making of halo2, and one of the producers said that '' Taking the player from the destroyed halo to the ancient fourrunner facilities on the gas giant.''

Now wait a sec! this kinda makes me think... wasn't halo near a freaking large gas planet?

It's " in the atmospherse of gas giants " and yes, what are you getting at? We already know that Halo is gone (Halo 04 that is) and First Strike already filled the gap between games. So please explain what you are getting at and then we'll say our opinions on your theory, whatever it may be.

There is WAY too much for that. You'd have to do like a thirty minute video to sum up First Strike, even then that is is not enough. I think just describing what happens inside the manual will be just fine. Saves time and effort on Bungie's part.

Well we all seen the accountment trailer where mc jumps form the airlock of a bigger ship than the longsword he used to escape from halo.

So i was thinking, what if mc boosted on the gas giant to search something useful.
while he was down there, he could have founded an radio tower (or something like that what the fourunners used to make contact), called an emergency singal ( MAYDAY MAYDAY HELP ME-type message of course) and then a bigger ship came by and picked him up, fitted him a new armor, gave him an update about what's going on earth, and blam! course towards earth, and the accountmet trailer starts.......

now that's my theory

so... what do you think?
could this possibly be the start of halo2's story?

i would really like it if you bungie folks would tell more about the singleplayer for a while, cause you'we been talking about the multiplayer for like (how long has it been?) 2-3 months!

Its a possibility and would be cool, hes got to get to earth somehow, but why would the covies be there? Theres gotta be covies other wise the levels just a maze.

Well there was a whole fleet that followed POA, so why couldn't the covenant go and search the gas giant or make an base there.. ( I know the goddamn armada was blown by halo's explosion!) but maby some of them escaped in the athmosphere of the gas planet, or maby they really had a base set up down there

Errmm one thing that bothered me about the making of trailer is that the atmospheric pressure of a gas giant would simply crush master chief (even if he is a cyborg soldier). so i dont know whether the levels will float about in its stratosphere or whether they'll just ignore the pressure problem.

I think that you're not talking about the Making of Halo2, there isn't one, it's the Making of Halo that you're mentioning. And MC never goes to Threshold- the Forerunners don't have a base there or facilities. Halo 2 will probably begin with some mission near to or related to Earth, seeing as the Master Chief is returning there in First Strike.

I mean the interview trailer. The one about how halo2 takes you from war torn areas to atmospheres of gas giants. Its the one with a clip of MC using the SMG against grunts and blowing them up in a comical fashion.

It could also just be that they used those words to just generally describe the diversity of environments in the game. Like, "I've done a lot of things in my life, from working in North Carolina to getting a job in Portland." It doesn't mean I went directly from NC to Portland, it just means I've done those things. In this case, maybe the producers are just saying the levels will span a lot of environments, from war-torn areas to the atmospheres of gas giants.

Just a thought. Maybe we're reading too much into what they said....
