IGN's Halo 2 vista review...sorta...

Now, as the "sorta" implies, this isn't the actual review. But IGN was given a copy of the game before all of us (bastards), so they gave us a little sneak peek of the game. No new screen shots or anything, just sort of a check up to make sure all the features work fine, and from what they've said, they do! (much better than what gearbox gave us <_<) Check it out.

Also the AR is actually good in CQB now and no longer a glorified baseball bat.

Hopefully, any issues inside the game will be addressed and any bugs/glitches will be fixed.

It's too late for that, they've gone into mass production.

That doesn't mean there can't be updates to the game. ;-)

It's not unheard of to release a patch within the week (or the same day) of a games release.

Halo 2 had a patch released the day it came out on the xbox.

Seize the Day

They did it with Vista itself. The release a patch to the net and the client finds it and downloads it.

Ya, but they can't fix any bugs that are already on the CD. They would have to patch them, I know the drill, all to well.

  • 04.21.2007 9:16 PM PDT

What it is.

Of course the bugs would still be on the original disc. But you see, once you start the game and are connected to Live, it will pop up a message saying there is an update for the game. It will then download the update, close the game and pop up an installer which you then go through the procedure(unless it installs while in-game, but that's not how it works with 'Bug Bash') and then it mentions that the computer may restart after the update(even though it probably won't). I am just basing this procedure on the fact that i was a part of the Live beta program and whenever there was an update that's how it worked. I won't be surprised if there is an update on the first day just because some reviewers might find a problem or something. Anywho, That wasn't much of a review but i am very much looking forward to this release. I sure hope to face some of you guys or something cuz i wanna see some sort of challenge.

The screens for sure look nice. The resolution and antialiasing are very crisp, and the lighting is better, too.

I'm loving the server browser!
