Subject: When did Chapters first exist?

I'm not that active, but never dead.

I would like to know when Chapters first came into existance, and for what purpose if anyone can tell me.

Thank you for your help,

-Alex : )

Well, when a public website and a private website love each other very much........

I really don't know. If I had to guess it would be not the last hotness but the one before it.

The first one was the Marty Army, and that was made on October 12th, 2001, or something. I believe the intended purpose was to find people who were living within a reasonable distance so that people could get together and have a LAN party.

I remember when I used this space to put cool looking links to my chapters back in the day. I don't even know why I'm using it now. Why are you even reading this? You must be interested in me. Still reading?

Imagine a LAN party with 2,000 someodd people...

The End

‘The conscious is cancerous if allowed to linger’

"Even if you're on the right track, you'll get run over if you just sit there."

Groups have been temporarily disabled. We are currently rebuilding Groups to be better integrated with the rest of bungie.net and have more features and functionality than they have had in the past. However, this takes time, and as the old groups do not function in the current design of bungie.net, they have been disabled until further notice. We hope to have them back online within a few weeks. At that time, your groups will return, and should include better functionality and reliablity than ever before. In the iterim, we apologize for the delay.

;-(

Don't we miss 'em.

Okay so they came into existance with the release of Halo, and were not related to Myth then? Thanks.

2B || !2B - Why don't you look Inside the Machine?

Wasn't the Marty Army also the beta test for Chapters?

For Carnage, Apply Within.

I have returned from the Untamed Lands. MOAP is dead.

I think groups were meant for old and future LAN events. Myth was probably the game that motivated Bungie to create them so fans could unite easily.

Bungie.net is a free internet based service which allows players from around the world to gather in one central location for Myth II multiplayer games.

But I dunno, some people say for Halo LAN parties and others say they were meant for Doom chapters.

I doubt they've been around since myth. No, they said that inspired Bungie to make Chapters, to some extent. Because Bungie.net used to host LAN parties on their servers, or something like that. for Myth, and I don't know about Marathon. But possibly around that time. We may never know.

WOW. I do miss them... strangely enough.
